HI guys,

I just declined my ITA. But I still meet FSW requirements. I have reduced the fund to 5k...whyyyyy? is there anything else i have to do? apparently they are very tough on POF, one of my friends got rejected due to credit card balance.

why did you decline it? You could have a friend or family e transfer you the remaining $ to proof you have the funds. and then E transfer back

you have to show bank statements, and they will ask you where you got the money. it can not be borrowed money.

Hi

Can you please confirm the point about your friends getting rejected due to credit card balance? Credit card balances shouldn't play a factor in establishing POF unless your friend used the credit card to place funds in his bank account?

Can you please confirm?

Thanks

Hi, apparently when he got the letter from his financial ins. they also mentioned his debts. his bank does that, and he only had account with that bank. so CIC deducted the credit card balance from the cash he has. Thats what i was told. I am just gona wait for next draw.

Thanks Armaniz

This is actually a very important point because a lot of us are of the view that Credit Cards should not factor into the POF balance. Is there any way you could confirm this with your friend and report back?

The only way I would expect a credit card to be taken into account is if he has transferred a balance from his credit card to his bank account to deposit funds (i.e. taking a loan).

Thanks

when you say rejected, is it after submitting everything and in the initial verification??? they dont charge any fees from your friend and he/she can get back to pool i guess??pls clarify

I think he applayed for PR through PNP or FSW not CEC for sure. I myself got ITA for FSW but i declined it this morning after putting a lot of thought into it, mainly becasue of POF and other stuff that i found out should be different such as certificate of qualification. BUT HOW CAN I MAKE MY SELF ELIGABLE ONLY FOR CEC NOW?

Sorry to push this Armaniz but is there anyway you could speak to your friend to get the full circumstances of the rejection?

We are still waiting on people from the first few draws reporting on their progress. At this point we're still guessing on points like POF. We had largely reached the decision that credit cards do not count towards POF. This could change quite a lot.

Thanks

yes you can.. make the POF to less than $2k and you will be ineligible for FSW.
I did that and they updated my profile after 1 day. Only eligible for CEC now.

But in CEC also it shows me a button to upload POF.
Is that ok if i show proofs for less than what i claimed while creating profile?? Also i'm not in Canada so cannot provide stamped letter from TD Bank other than my online statement. I can provide INdia bank account stamped if need.

About your first question, I think the whole purpose of asking for POF from CEC applicants is to verify whether you actually have whatever you claimed in your profile.

I think the concern raised by bairn7 is a very valid one.

Right now, we still have no idea how CIC assesses whether the POF is adequate or not,
and if so, based on what considerations?

Do bank credit card debts count, even
though CIC says it is looking for bank savings statements?

Some confirmation on this would indeed be very helpful,
and help those in similar situations plan their finances around such constraints.

Any idea if i can submit my TD Bank online statement. I am not in Canada and cannot go and get statement signed and stamped by bank official.
