I also can't see anything on ecas. Received AOR on Oct 5th. I thought that there is delay in file transfer that is why this info is not updated. Yesterday, Roseapple got a call from taiwan VO asking for IELTS scores. It means VO is processing her full docs and the file has been transfered to them..

I think I will wait for 2nd AOR and try ecas with that number.

My full docs reached CHC, New Delhi on Oct 26. Now the looooooong wait.....to medicals (hopefully)

Wish everyone the best, hope the remaining applicants also receive their AORs soon

I am still not able to see anything on e-cas. Hope CIC has completed the file transfer and CHC can map my documents to it.

Don’t lie in your Canada immigration application
Canada, 26th October: Do you know that any lie in your Canada immigration application can put a question mark on your chances of immigration?

While providing detailed information in your application for Canada immigration, you must provide a true and authentic detail of various facts about yourself. Giving any false information can hinder not only yours but also the chances of your family members seeking immigration to Canada.

Why should you abstain from providing false information in your Canada visa application---

• Giving untrue information in your application is regarded a legal crime under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act;

• It renders you ineligible to immigrate to Canada either for studying in Canada, working in Canada, going to Canada on a Canada visitor visa or seeking permanent immigration to Canada;

• It reduces the chances of your family members for Canada immigration;

• It shows your disrespect towards rules of laws and makes you suspicious in the eyes of the Canada immigration officials regarding the disrespect you might show towards Canadian laws after your immigration to Canada.

• Immigration fraud is considered to be a big threat to the security and integrity of the immigration system of Canada and anyone caught to be misrepresenting the facts is likely to be denied any chance to immigrate to Canada.

• The introduction of ‘The Cracking Down on Crooked Consultants Act’ on June 8, 2010 is another proof of the fact that anyone found to be involved in fraud either directly or under the influence of any crooked immigration consultants to gain Canada citizenship or Canada visa will not be spared by Canada immigration department.

• The government of Canada has introduced several measures to ensure that immigration consultation services in Canada are provided only by notaries, lawyers or registered members of CSIC (Canadian Society of Immigration Consultants).

• Anyone giving false information about persecution for making refugee claims is likely to face severe punishment as per the Canada immigration laws.

Remember, honesty is, undoubtedly, the best policy if you want to successfully immigrate to Canada and even a small lie might make you pay a heavy price for your mistake.

Hi every one I got my AOR on October 20th but I am confused with my IELTS score because reading the EG7 it says that the IELTS score should not be more than a year old at the time of submission application but it does not whether its the time of submission application to the VO or CIO can somebody solve my problem because my score was valid at the time of submission to the CIO but it is expired now when I am submitting my application to the VO. Thank you

Hi there - Regarding PCC from Dubai (as a ex-resident upto 2006)

I was working in Dubai until 2006 and am currently residing in Hyderabad, India. I also have to obtain PCC from Dubai. Can I use the Fingerprinting Form FD-258, get it attested and send it to New Delhi Visa Office. Is Form FD-25 valid for Canada? Will the New Delhi Visa Office accept it? Pl respond with your answers.

Take a look at this. Somebody submitted more than one year old report to New Delhi
http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/ielts-validity-t48943.0.html;msg367513#msg367513

Many people are saying that it is OK if the report is valid when it was submitted to CIO. It makes sense because of huge processing times involved.

What is your Visa Office? You can probably get some adivse from people with same VO.

which New Delhi visa office are you talking about? Canadian/Dubai?

I think you need to post in Dubai forum to findout about pcc procedure. They may or may not use FD-258. Once you got the PCC, you submit that with your full docs.

FD-258 forms are available in India, and are used for FBI PCC. You can talk to JK consultancy in New Delhi to see if they can help with Dubai PCC. They also have a representative in Hyderabad. http://www.delhifingerprints.com/faqs.htm

Immigrants in Canada boost innovation

Canada, 25th October: Immigrants in Canada are giving a big boost to innovation in the country and playing a crucial role in improving the global competitiveness of Canada.

This has been revealed by the findings of a latest report by CBC (Conference Board of Canada) titled ‘Immigrants as Investors: Boosting Canada’s Global Competitiveness’.

The report tested the view that immigrants tend to be highly innovative and found that immigrants in Canada were, indeed, associated with higher innovation in Canada at all levels including individual, national, organization and global.

The findings of the report maintain that although the percentage of immigrants comprise just one-fifth of Canada’s total population, but still, the percentage of immigrants in Canada Research Chairs is 35 percent.

It further suggested that it’s the immigrants in Canada that won higher number of highly prestigious performing arts and literary awards including the Governor-General’s Performing Arts Awards and the Giller Prize.

And immigration significantly affects and improves trade relations of Canada with the nations of immigrants’ origin. An increase of one-percentage-point increase in the number of immigrants results in 0.21 percent increase in the value of imports in Canada and also results in 0.11 percent increase in the value of exports.

No wonder, countries regarded to be major sources of immigration to Canada make greater foreign direct investment into the nation than other nations, the report asserts.

Although, there might be a few shortcomings of multiculturalism, there is no denying the fact that immigrants in Canada are playing a significant role in the making worthy contributions to the nation’s society.

And despite such important contributions by immigrants in Canada, they continue to encounter numerous obstacles in the way of their successful integration in Canada.

Some of the problems faced by immigrants in Canada include delays in getting recognition of their foreign credentials, inadequate opportunities for newcomers in making use of their skills, and failure of employers in Canada to use foreign language skills of immigrants.

The report gives a piece of advice to the employers in Canada asking them to hire immigrants at all organizational levels and invite them to share their valued suggestions.

It also asserts on improving the living conditions of all Canadians including immigrants

Hello again dear friends,

Just a thought, I'm currently working at Orange Business Services as a Cessation Management Specialist do you think I might be eligible to apply under NOC 1122.
I am a bit confused between my duties and these duties, there might be a connection between them... not sure though

Hi alex,
good to see that u have started to look other ways to immigrate, if u r planning to apply in 1122 then u shud make it fast as only this NOC has filled up around 75%. and u need time to collect all docs as well.
80% of Job duties shud be matched as provided at the hrdc website for that NOC and just dont copy paste them...try to match them closely and do write in your own language.
well you can join after 26 june applicant's thread to make your doubts clear besides you can write your JD here so that members can help u to modify them as per the requirement.

Thank you rehaan, bebomallah & lakhvinder.kaur for your encouragement and spirit :)
I will post my JDs shortly but i have another question.

I claimed 5 points in the adaptability factor because my sister lives there, but in the illustration of the CIC on how you get these points, they didn't mention sister, please tell me if I am eligible for the 5 points or not, i copied the illustration here:

Relatives in Canada
