Hi @hssrp

Just received the oath letter for the 16th Sep sometime back. Checked the tracker and it shows LPP completed 30th, updated yesterday.

Hi @hssrp I have 2 questions if you don't mind:
1. I won't be able to attend this one because I am travelling out of Canada end of the week and don't want to go though hassle of new passport because I need PR to travel. Should I just email them with proof of travel. They won't cancel the application, right?
2. I am scheduled for on-site but I had selected virtual. Do you know anyone who was able to change this preference.

Thanks in advance.
Do you know when the tracker updated with oath scheduled? I put date as Aug 30 for now. If it's not updated yet I'll change to today's date.

The update for test marked as complete- is it same as other updates? That it appears 2 days after on 5am or it can show up anytime? One profile had it as updated the next business day. Not sure what time

AOR June 14 Test updated to completed on Aug 13. Since then, no update was told by IRCC: security screening has been completed on July 30th and RCMP criminality check is in progress. My office is Calgary. Is this normal? It seems like Calgary office is the worst, as I came across quite a few people having the same exact timeline for Calgary office and in the same stage as me. Is it worth sending a webform? Not sure if it makes any difference then calling. I heard webform goes directly to the case officer; is that true?

I have two questions:
  • My test invite was from the Surrey Office - does that mean they would be the ones processing the file throughout or will offices/officers bounce off files to another one after each step depending on the workload and volume?
  • How fast is the Surrey office in terms of processing? I don't know what offices each case file belong to from the Spreadsheets, so, I was not sure if anyone is keeping track of an estimated timeline based on each office?
Asking just to get an idea when my application would get to LPP completion stage. Thanks!

1. You can respond to the Oath invite email asking for a reschedule with your travel dates mentioned and the date you come back to Canada. They usually accept it for genuine travel cases and reschedule it once and that would be the FINAL NOTICE TO APPEAR. You have to attend the new one else the application will be considered abandoned. If the travel is not urgent and can be rescheduled, I would advice you to not reschedule the Oath. Few applicants were lucky and got a new date within few weeks of coming back and few others are waiting for months to be rescheduled though they are back to Canada already.

2. We do not select the Oath ceremony type in the application. The only preference we give is the type of the certificate (Paper or e-certificate) and they decide the ceremony type based on what is available to schedule at the earliest. Like I answered above, you can request to reschedule to the other ceremony type but it is their discretion to accept and can take a longer wait until your oath ceremony is rescheduled. It is preferable to avoid this request unless there is a pressing need for a specific ceremony type.

Thank you very much.
I may have the same issue here. I would like to travel before the Oath.
And I don't understand that, is that mean once we attended Oath, we are an citizen? As I have already booked my trip in middle of October. I can't cancel my trip. And I prefer out of country as a PR. Therefore, if I got invitation in October, I need to reschedule it.

Does anyone know if it’s necessary to update identity documents that have expired after the application was submitted? I applied back in June, and all my documents were valid at that time, but now my secondary identity document has expired.

If fingerprints were requested by Vancouver office they take 4-5 weeks to receive and update the same.

Test results take 2-10 business days for the officer to review and mark as completed depending upon the office and officer.

You can find the processing office email ID in the contact us section of the test invite PDF. If you are unable to find the office from the ID, you can paste the email here and we can help.
