purpose was tourism, it is for my mom (I am already in canada)

The document number and validity date is visible on the application status tracker. I submitted my passport to VFS Wafi Mall and was told I should get it back in 3-4 weeks. My passport has been with IRCC for 17 calendar days.

I submitted a letter requesting expedited stamping and a copy of a wedding invitation for July 22 2023 along with my passport. My TRV is for a visit. The letter and wedding invite is redundant now since that time has passed, I missed the wedding. VFS simply stated 3-4 weeks and strongly refused to say anything beyond that.

man 3-4 weeks is very long, if i get my ppr I will ask them if they can speed it up because I'm in university and its about to start, super urgent

I’ve had Canadian TRV for visit 2 times before. Also had Canadian TRV for study which I extended 3 times. This is all in the last 10 years. My applications have never been rejected.
The current application is for the purpose of a visit.
I got my biometrics collection letter almost immediately after submitting my online application. I was responsible for the delay in submitting my biometrics (I did it about a month later). The biometrics got uploaded to the system and showed as completed online pretty much immediately and actually got my passport submission request 5-6 days after that. All of that was surprisingly fast for me. It’s the stamping that’s taking long.
Study TRVs are prioritized since they know it’s all time-sensitive. Your uni will probably start in September or so. Ideally you should have applied sooner but better late than never.

If your TRV doesn’t arrive in time, email your professors letting them know and stay updated with your courses. Most quizzes and submissions will be online. Don’t know if it’s still the way it was during covid but a lot of profs were recording lectures. If that’s not the case, request lecture notes by connecting with other students in the courses. Make use of the student forums for particular courses. That way you won’t get kicked out of the courses while you’re waiting on your TRV. Hope this helps!

yeah, I really hope you are right about study trvs being a priority (also did you mean for stamping or approving hahahahah), I was a bit late because I had to come to dubai for a medical family emergency and it completely went over my head needing to go back before the previous expiry or even applying earlier. Would officers automatically access your previous applications and see previous approvals?

I see with your biometrics, but did you not have yours previously saved in the system?

similar to you from 2021 Ive had a study permit approved from UAE, which came with a study visa. As well as a study permit which I have renewed in march of this year.
