June 2023 Visitor Visa TRV applicants

Applied for Inland Visitor visa against an approved Study Permit extension. Today it has been approved but I see a Visitor record instead of Original Passport Request. Is there something I am missing? @Naturgrl @canuck78

For inland visitor visa is different from outland visitor visa where you need passport stamp in order to enter Canada. Extension of visitor visa or getting visitor records means you are still in Canada, you don’t need to enter the country, does it make sense.
You only need to apply for TRV separately if you’re going outside Canada in order to re- enter Canada.

i believe for indian citizens background check is done same day or within a few days right

I applied for my brother who is 16 years old.

I have almost same timeline as yours but the good thing that your eligibility is under review that might be good sign as they might be working on your father’s application.
But one thing that is also true that IRCC is unpredictable.
Hope for the best decision.
