I still don't have a valid excuse to request urgency and also don't want them to just decide to reject my application or something. But I am thinking of writing again in September, when I should actually have an excuse that they might entertain.

I applied for notes on March 28 and no updates until now. Applied again June 10 and still nothing

Yes. Unfortunately I am one of the few people for whom it did not work. I only got the following response and nothing after:

Your application is currently in queue to receive a notification to appear for ceremony in the coming months. Please hold off from booking travel so as not to invalidate your PR Status after having taken the Canadian Citizenship Oath.

Should you need to request urgency, please clearly provide your UCI/Application Number, the reason you are requesting urgency and any additional documents that prove urgency. Please note, leisure travel will not be approved for urgency.

Their response is not helpful at all They're literally asking you to put your life on hold as you await action from their side

Wish you all the very best - hope your oath invite comes sooner rather than later.

Hello Everyone

Need some information from members who have already taken the oath.

During oath did you need your COPR if you had your PR card in your possession and became a PR after June 28 2002?

Just trying to be sure as mine is back home.

I don't believe so; the text of the e-mail invite says to bring your PR card if you have one OR your COPR. I was asked to cut up my PR card, but they didn't ask me to do anything with the COPR. People who became a PR before 2002 are also asked to write "No Longer a Permanent Resident" on their record of landing. You are also asked to *keep* your COPR in your records.

2. After we send the signed oath form do we receive an acknowledgement email?
And
3. Are we required to send signed oath form for minors also or only for adults?

Please urgent response needed..

1. Yes to question 1.

" (If applicable) The permanent resident card for each of the minor children associated to your application, whether they participate in the ceremony or not);  2 pieces of personal identification (ID):  one must have your photograph and signature on it, e.g. driver’s license, health card  one of them can be your Permanent resident card, if your second piece of identification is Canadian federal, provincial or territorial issued ID  foreign ID documents must be government-issued, Canadian ones don’t need to be government-issued  if they’re not in English or French, you must provide a translation with an affidavit from the translator  minors are not required to show identification with a signature; "

2. You get that automated message. I guess you can consider it an acknowledgement.

"Hello, Thank you for contacting Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Please note that this is an automated message.".

3. No for minors.

"NOTE: All candidates aged fourteen (14) or older must sign the Oath or Affirmation of Citizenship form as indicated above. Each member of the family associated with your application must have their own form. Minors under the age of 14 do NOT need to sign or send in the Oath or Affirmation of citizenship form. Parents or guardians also do not need to sign nor send the form on the minor's behalf. "
