2. when do we get invitation to attend the oath ceremony?
3. do we get citizenship certificate immediately after the oath ceremony or is there a delay in getting certificate after taking the oath?

I called IRCC to ask for any update on my application and now they simply refuse to give any answer to non urgent application stating they are prioritizing Afghanistan crisis

Hi, My background was completed in Feb 2021 and since then there is no update on my application. It's frustrating to see no further updates on the case. I agree to the fact the processing was hit by COVID-19 but thats IRCC has to figure out why can't immigration are not productive if they are working from home. Was wondering if there is some sort of escalation list to whom queries can be directed.

Likewise. BG completed in June 2021 and since then nothing happened. My citizen office is Saskatoon.

Is that still going?!! They are all 20,000. Should have been less than a month work.

I just checked IRCC website for application status and it says they are finalizing grant of citizenship applications received June 16 and 22, 2019!!!! Does this mean that ours (June 2020) will be at least one more year??!!

No, some of the June/July, 2020 already have oath done. I guess IRCC means most of the June 2019 already completed.

That's how I see it too. With the pace and trend they are moving most June 2020 cases will be completed by July-August next year. This is of course considering nothing unexpected new emergencies like COVID or Afghan situations not occur.

For my wife and I test and BG are completed as of July 21. We got a passport request for my wife which we sent in early August. I thought it was because she had 2 passports in the eligibility period as one had expired.

After this no update. What's the recent wait time between test completion and decision made?

Hi All,

Just an update. My wife's status got updated today. Everything completed except citizenship ceremony. Last update was in July when she completed her test.
I am still waiting for my status to be updated. I am done with background and test.

Does anyone know how to interpret still having BG check in progress *after* taking the citizenship test and having that marked as complete?

What a shit show going on ,Now people who applied in April2021 i repeat April 2021 just 6 months ago are set for oaths and people who applied years ago are being punished for applying citizenship grant! And above all some offices are sleeping completely they don’t give a s….So stressed and now GCMS not are not being given out so that we know where our applications are sitting!
