I also called IRCC. They confirmed my application has passed all checks (eligibility, criminality, security) but no final decision has been made yet. It’s been several days so hopefully that’s normal. :/ My application is being processed in Ottawa.

Mine is exactly the same as yours! Everything passed as of the 14th Dec, just waiting for final officer to review! Fingers crossed!

Wow, today was a day that so many folks got their application either approved or passed all the stages. It was inspired me to make a call and the very nice agent told me your application is ALMOST...ALMOST NOTHING CHANGES. o_O. Santa, where is my Christmas gift???

It will come! mine were all "in progress" as of 4 weeks ago, I rang today hoping at least one would be passed, did not expect all three! Keep an eye out for ghost updates, I got one on Monday afternoon!

What does that mean? Did you pass another stage?

@legalfalcon what will be the process if someone is on LMIA Closed work permit. Do I need to apply for LMIA again or I can apply for BOWP while still waiting for decision?

Hi,

I have exact same work permit. You can BOWP on your own, no need for your employer and no you dont have to re apply for LMIA.

I did it 2 weeks ago, approval in 24 hours.

This link was helpful:
https://medium.com/@mary_14583/step-by-step-guide-to-applying-for-a-bridging-open-work-permit-bowp-from-within-canada-9fd128c8727d

Obviously, some differences you need to factor when doing the form (tick LMIA / work permit for existing employer etc).

I'm on the same boat. I called last week and that is what they told me.
My profile has stayed the same since at least October 26th, since my GCMS notes generated that day indicated the same status.

My wife and I are getting frustrated about this as well, we can't plan far into the future.
I always think I should have applied for PR from my home country, could have easily done it if I had stayed and worked for a year instead of coming to do a PhD in Canada.

Let's stay positive my friend, our time will come.
