Hi all,

What is Approved In principle? Is it same as AOR? Which we get around One month after submitting Spousal In land application?

Please throw some light here.

Thank you.
AIP means it has been determined that you meet the eligibility requirements for permanent resident status, however, a final decision will not be made until all remaining requirements for becoming a permanent resident have been met like pass medical and background checks.

What is your timeline?

You will have to do some research on your own here, there is lots of threads in this forum where all these questions are answered. This is a thread for June applications and their application, please respect that.

To answer your immediate questions Approved in Principle is not the same as AOR, AOR is what you receive when they started processing your application. AIP is when you meet enough eligibility requirements so that you will as it says approved in principle.

You can submit an OWP application right with your spousal application. The document guide from the CIC webiste will help you with that as well. And yes you can pay all the fees together just make sure you pay the Open work permit fee as well as the work permit fee $255 in total if i remember correctly.

Do we need to do upload receipts after the medical exam has been done by a registered physician? Status (your action required) has not changed even after 7 days since medical was done.

It took 10 days for mine to be approved after I completed medical so don't worry yet... I don't think you need to upload anything unless they ask for it...

No, nothing extra needs to be submitted. Our changed back to 'Submitted' once we passed medical 6 days after.

If we are moving and there will be change of address, phone number etc., would anyone be able to direct me to the right set of information? I want to be able to advise CIC asap so I don't delay the overall PR process, but not sure how I do this.

Thanks!

It gets frustrating with each passing day. File has been received since June 20th. My Visa expires on 4th of January. If nothing comes by, I might have to apply for TRV mid December. Cant work without OWP and these expenses keep piling up. They are moving at snail's pace. I am going to even stop checking the status now.

How do you know you passed the medical? I would assume ‘submitted’ only means they have received the file, no?

It says 'Medical passed November 29th'
So before it was sent it said “action required” then when they received it it changed to “submitted” then after you passed it said “passed”?

Mine said "your action required" for a few days, but then I checked today and it said "you passed medical on december 1st". So nothing else was needed on my behalf really.

hey guys!
New week, same frustration.
I've got a bot reply for the webform I submitted last week, saying they have forwarded my message to the immigration office.
App received June 28th, still no OWP.
Going straight to 6 month now :(
