Hi! It seems like lots of people have gotten their medicals but no one from Québec Is it because they wait to hear back from CSQ before sending out the medical requests? The MIDI is being super slow!! Is there any way we can see if there's anything moving in their system?

So overall my medical was $450, they didn't tell me that i'd have to pay for X-ray / Blood-work/Urine would be extra on top of the $330 I already had paid. I guess that's my luck for being in Northern ontario and healthcare isn't up to scratch.... hopefully everything goes smoothly though.

Does anyone know if you’re supposed to get an email notification that the background check has started?
When I signed into the CIC we ate to view details of our PR application, under Background Check it read: “We are processing your background check. We will send you a message if we need more information” and not the “We started processing” marked in the google spreadsheet. The wording is a little different but I presume it’s the same thing...

No they wont send you an email, it will just say status update. Same thing when medicals are passed.
You’ll see it when you login.

Oh yeah this is completely worth it just to be able to be with my husband all the time! I just wish my work permit was in earlier as it would have offset the cost mostly

Same here, Its really hard making ends meet while not being able to work and the file processing is taking so much time. I had gotten my medical upfront, but that doesn't seem to quicken things up either. Happy waiting

But I do have a question, my account says "your action required still" I mean I suppose that's normal as I only just had the medical today so nothing would be sent just yet. But is there anything that I need to do, will the message "your action required" change? As the docs said they'd send it online as they didn't need the printed sheet in the pdf that cic gave. Just want to be sure that i'm doing things correctly!

I guess the action required by you was getting the medical done within the time period allotted. Which you have already done. In my case i got it done upfront in march, and had requested blood reports to be sent to me. When they did send me the reports they also provided me with the details of them uploading the results and all. It takes few days, like say around 4-5 days as public health results(blood test results) take some time to come back. I had it on 25 march and was submitted online on 30th march. So I guess you have done your part, once the medical reports are received they will be reviewed by the relevant officer and then they will update your status. For me they updated to “medical results have been received” on 25th november on ecas status check. So i guess sit tight and wait is the part we have to do now. Hope all turns good and the turn comes soon.

Really wondering what happened to the applications on end of June.
We've submitted a web form again this Monday.

Mine was received on June 20th. I guess the Visa officers handling May and June files had a lot of files in hand to process or for some reason unbeknownst, the processing for these two months has been slow if not slowest. As July and Aug people have received OWP. At least they started asking for medicals now from June applicants which gives a little hope that at least the files are not just lying there in the cabinet.

I bring good news I finally got my OWP approval after 5months delay (Still was unable to link to my account during this time)
I called up on the 22nd to ask about what's happening as it had been a month since they said they would push it through and then told me they would review it in the next couple of days which is true because of my approval now.
I hope to the others who have been waiting just as I have will recieve good news soon!

congrats! did you have to resubmit it at some point or whats your timeline? I cant find you in the spreadsheet
