Hello!

I had my Citizenship Ceremony on Friday (October 16th) and am now just awaiting my certificate in the mail. It was a lovely ceremony via Zoom. Congratulations to all the new Canadians! To those still waiting, keep the faith, your time will come. Thanks to all on this board, it has made the long journey easier knowing you are all out there! Best of luck to everyone. Chrissy Ellis (June 2019 applicant)

I had my oath ceremony on 9th October and still my Ecas is showing decision made only.

It means there is a delay in citizenship certificate print and mailing as well.

Obviously, still waiting for citizenship certificate..

Hi Vivek,

When did your Ecas changed to "complete" from " Decision made"?

looking at your timeline, it looks like certification takes a month now from oath date.

Pardon my ignorance but Passport before certificate?

How can one get passport before Certificate ?We need to have certificate in order to apply for the passport right?

Or am I not getting the point?

We have to submit the original citizenship certificate along with the passport application.
Once the Canadian passport is processed they send back the Canadian certificate and Canadian passport to the applicant separately.
The OP is talking about getting that.

Hello all,
Can anyone help me with some clarifications, please?
1) My understanding is that after the oath ceremony, we have to sign the oath form and mailed to IRCC. Then IRCC will print the citizenship certificate and mailed to us with regular mail. Is there a way to get the certificate urgently, if we have proof that we need urgent processing, such as after 1 week? What is the process to do that?
2) Once we receive the certificate if we have to travel out of the country, and stay abroad for a while, can we apply for the Canadian passport, which would be for the first time, from another country (that has Canadian embassy)?
Thank you!

Yes you can get urgent services if you have valid proof. Scan and Email them the oath form along with proof of your urgent travel (medical wedding or work related travel) and explain to them
