I am on the same boat, did my finger prints in october 2019 and did again in November 2020 after getting their letter stating that finger prints were only good for one year. Most disappointing thing was that they changed my status from Decision made to In progress. My status now is In progress.
oh that is not good - i did my fingerprints in Oct 2019, and so far i have never received a request to re submit which means my application will be looked at in Jan somewhere and they will ask for fingerprints then.

Guys, there is an update on IRCC website that specifically requests applicants whose oath ceremonies were cancelled in March because of COVID-19 to send a request through webform. This might speed up the process a little bit and you might receive your oath invite if you contact them.

Here's what it says :

Contact us through the Web form if you

  • had a ceremony scheduled on or before March 15, 2020, and
  • haven’t received an invitation for a video oath ceremony.
Here's the link : https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/check-status.html

Choose the following options :

1. What did you apply for? = Citizenship
2. Which citizenship application? (required) = Becoming a Canadian Citizen (grant of Citizenship)
3. Click on 'Video oath ceremony (virtual citizenship ceremony)'

Extracts from CIC website:

Since April 1, 2020, we started inviting applicants to take the Oath of Citizenship through video calls.

Wait for us to invite you.

Contact us through the Web form if you

  • had a ceremony scheduled on or before March 15, 2020, and
  • haven’t received an invitation for a video oath ceremony.

I received the AOR email 3.5 months ago and heard nothing since. Tried to check the "status" online but can't, saying "we cannot identify you using the information your provided". I'm pretty sure the info I entered is correct.

Can anyone advise if this is normal?

Can I not check my application status as long as I'm not in the "in process ECAS" phase?

Thank you.

You should be able to check your status once your application is uploaded to the GCMS system. If you have received AOR, you should definitely be able to check the status on ECAS.

What exactly are you doing to check the status? Are you using your UCI or the application number on your AOR?

Nice to see so many test invite recently.. I’m seeing some 2020 applicants getting oath ceremonies as well. Anyone else waiting “in processing” since 2019 October? (2019 June single applicant 1200 days from Toronto with 8 travel records less than 7/8. Days each trip and 42 days in total)

kinda feeling left out now lol

Thank you for your prompt reply.

I went to this site:
https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/application/check-status.html

What did you apply for: Citizenship

Which type of citizenship application: Becoming a Canadian citizen

Clicked on "Check application status"

Agreed to the terms and conditions

For "identifier type", I've tried both the UCI and Application number and both didn't work. I am able to find both numbers on on AOR letter.

Lol. You are not the only one mate. June 2019 applicant here. Still have not received citizenship test invite yet. I'm contemplating whether to order GCMS notes or not.

Same. And I don’t even have to test or prove language as I am over 54. June application and in process October.
