Update for everyone: a June applicant (Venugopalt) received their application back as "incomplete" (here is the post), so it seems they are already opening some of the ones sent in June!

I submitted my application along with my wife and kids. My elder kid's birth certicate is in both English and Tamil.

Anyone has similar issue? The Birth Certificate is cleary in English and Tamil not sure why they sent it back.
Planning to get it translated. Any links you can provide is much appreciated."

If you looked up the name "Venugopal" in the June 2018 tracker, you'll find it (entry # 22 in the excel sheet)

The post linked is called "June 2018 Citizenship Applicant" and yes, he is in the June spreadsheet, I personally updated it to reflect the application had been returned.

In any case, it's great news for us, June Applicants!

The bad news is that I just received my application back because it was considered incomplete. The reason was "You do not have the required language level". With my application I sent the copy of my CELPIP-general (the same when I applied for PR). The test was completed in 2013 and I got 5 in reading, 4H in writing, 5 in listening and 4L in speaking. Those scores are above the benchmark for citizenship.

Could anyone explain what I did wrong?

I just reviews this link and the only reason I could think of is maybe that you didn't send a translation of the certificate, if it was done in a language other than English or French? I apologize, I am not familiar with CELPIP =/

No, the CELPIP was done here in Canada and the document is in English.

I read again the instructions and I just cannot see why they did not accept that test...

Hmmm upon reviewing the Scores, could it be that they deemed your scores too low? It is less than 50% of the highest mark Hopefully some senior members will share their insight.

Yes, I think I will post on the general forum as well.

Regarding the scores, 5=maximum score (advanced proficiency), 4=adequate proficiency.

From the application guide:
"If you took the test before April 1, 2014, you must have a score of 2H or higher (i.e., 3L, 3H, 4L, 4H, 5L, or 5H) in listening and speaking."
I took the test in 2013 and my scores were 4 and 5...
