Well you can try! The way a call works though is that other side needs to accept the call :D
You are not getting an easy pass here.
You'll feel bad about ignoring my call. And you'll give in.
Everyone here knows Cansha is a good guy.

Hi Everyone
I'm writing my first post on this forum though I'm a silent reader for past six months. Would like to thank everyone on this forum specially Cansha & tobs. Their suggestions were immensely helpful to me and countless other silent readers. Yesterday I got PPR. Following is my timeline:

ITA: April 11, 2018
AOR: June 30, 2018.
MEP/IP1: July 17, 2018
1st GCMS ordered: November 12, 2018
GCMS received: December 17, 2018 (review required for proof of funds all else was cleared. Case analyst comments dated August 07, 2018)
Second GCMS ordered: December 18, 2018
Visa Officer reviewed case and requested updated proof of funds December 19, 2018
Documents submitted: December 20, 2018
IP2 (Background check started): December 31, 2018 or earlier
PPR: January 23, 2019
Second GCMS received: January 23, 2019

What I learnt from this forum is that sometimes ordering GCMS helps in faster processing of your case which seems true in my case.
Thanks everyone once again.

Any updates guys?
Another week about to end in a day. It’s very tough to wake up every day with disappointment. I am not receiving any replies from emails I have sent so far. Also, I am not getting connected to agent and if I do get connected, it gets disconnected by the time agent is done with asking details. Feeling hopeless and helpless. Don’t know when all this will end.
Don’t lose hope, you are not alone in that situation. We will receive the PPR soon enough :)

Can you share the application assignment part for page 2 in both the gcms notes.

Also what's your primary VO in the notes. Thanks.

If you are from China, don't worry. Your application is going to take longer than others as Government of China does not disclose or share a lot of information with Canada, so it might take longer to finalize the criminality and security. However, as long as there is no red flag in your notes, don't worry, it is just the matter of time.
but why my friends only need 2 months to ppr

Anyways, as long as there is no problem in your notes, there is nothing you can do, other than waiting. Maybe wait for some days and order a new set of notes. If not, email the VO and ask them what is going on.

brilliant, my bro

Since theres a specific question about accompanying someone with newly obtained status in Canada, I think this is a valid reason to visit Canada and I will support it with my documents. Should work. @legalfalcon : can you please guide me on this?

You only obtain the status of a landed PR, when you are examined by an Immigration or CBSA officer, documents processed, and you are allowed to enter Canada. Until then, you are not a PR.

A slightly off topic question.

My parents will be accompanying me when I go to Canada initially. They will stay with me and fund their own expenses including travel. My question is if I can write them an invitation letter. I will provide my immigrant visa and COPR as proof.

@legalfalcon

See my reply above. Your parents can apply for a visitor's visa for sure, however, you cannot invite them as you are not a PR until you land. Merely having a COPR and a visa does not make you a PR. You have to be examined and admitted.

Your parents surely can provide your visa and COPR as proof, but you cannot write an invitation letter inviting them yet.

For all us Security Not Started folks, I have been reading some of @legalfalcon's posts, and he says security can take 2-3 months to complete... So do you think it would be wise to plan to wait for at least 2 to 3 months before PPR? That would radically change my plans...

Withe the biometrics coming in, the time to do security will drastically decrease. Also, in the last 10 months, the time for security has already been reduced to 1-2 months, unless an applicant is in Enhanced SS, which can take over a year.
