Well this is great, I'm trying to send a CSE and nothing happens after I click next. This keeps getting better and better.

I just received my GCMS notes this afternoon. However when I was checking the Admissibility -> Security section, it only shows Security: 1, my name, my UCI and Type: Security. There is about a one-page long blank space after that, no sub activities shown at all. Does that mean I've been selected for Security Screening?

I think that means your SS is done and not in proper screening.

Thank you for your reply, can you please explain what do you mean by proper screening? About 10 days ago I called IRCC and the agent told me my security started in end of October if I was selected for SS how could it be done in such a short time?

SS can be done from few days to months. My notes had a page with heading SS and then a blank page. I wasn't stuck in SS. So I guess if there are no sub activities within SS, it means you should be good. With proper screening I meant those who are stuck in SS. for months.

Hey Guys,
What are your pre arrival preparation plans?

For those in regulated professions here (engineers, doctors, nurses) are you working towards getting licensed? What have you done so far?
For those none regulated professions what steps have you taken to make job searching easier?
Let's have a discussion about these things while we wait for PPR.
Am a HR professional and a PNP nominee (OINP), so my destination is Ontario. Although the HR profession is non regulated, it is essential that one is certified to make headway in the profession. So while I wait for PPR, I registered to become a member of HRPA - the HR regulating body in Ontario and also to obtain the CHRL certification. This required that I meet the requirements and in addition, I am required to pass some exams. Luckily, I am able to write the exams from outside Canada and I wrote one stage of the exam in November. I passed and have been cleared to write the final stage of the exam in January next year. So hopefully, I should become certified by the time am ready to land next year.
When that will be I don't know, as my file is in Accra visa office and as per last gcms notes obtained in November, eligibility, criminality and security has not started. Yes, it's that bad. And for the record, my AOR is 31 May 2018.
Yea, so those are my pre arrival plans. To be a certified HR professional by the time am landing.

aor 19th june. cec-inland.
just ordered my second gcms notes. i have a growing suspicion nothing will happen in next few weeks. so i may get my gcms notes before PPR. although, i hope i get the PPR before that.
i have refrained myself from ordering a copy assuming PPR will come soon. :p

i have ordered my first gcms notes back in september and got it back in first week of october. at that time, Eligibility - Recommended Pass. Criminality - In progress. I had a ghost update in late October or early November. By the way Primary Visa Office is Ottawa.
my aor date is almost the same as yours and progress on application is identical

Yes it does!!
This is exactly the type of reactions I wanted to spark by initiating this discussion.
For some of us, our reality will be that we need to go back to school. While others may find themselves in Trades and some unskilled professions.
We need to start thinking about the possibilities and planning towards them.
Thank you very much @phd208 For sharing. Kindly let us know what career lane youve decided to switch to and what courses you would need to take to get that degree (if you don't mind).

My pleasure, Tobs. Well, as we all know, if there is a field where Canada needs people, it's in IT. So, I've decided to attend a course in IT (maybe an accelerated program for graduates; there are some of those) so that I can understand the field without foregoing my previous experience – which has to do with tax and audit, so there are links that can be made between the fields. Job-market wise it's what seems doable for now.

Thanks for starting the discussion! It's a productive way of interacting here while we wait for our PPRs

when was the last time ppr rain for cec applicans ? anyone knows why cec applicants not getting ppr from last few weeks?

From my experience of software development implementing that progress bar is a days work. According to me its a visual gimmick. A better idea would be to link the notes data from the GCMS to our profile page.
Actually, I would estimate it ~4-5 hours, including design. It's very primitive. I believe they spend more time creating hype and initiating notifications about the bar, in comparison with engineering work.
