It makes you a USA resident!!
Oh. I thought you asked if I am US citizen.
It makes you a USA resident!!
Eligibility goes through 2 checks, one by case analyst(junior) and another by case officer (Senior). Analyst can only recommend and it's case officer who makes it final. It's a good sign if it is Met for you.Just spoke to a CIC agent.. very receptive and polite, I must say.
1. Asked about status of doc uploaded proactively through webform. He told me that it is yet to be added to my file.
2. Asked about eligibility status. He said its updated as eligibility met and that it would need oversight of another office to change this to eligibility passed
3. Current VO is CPC Ottawa.
Anyone else heard of this eligibility status and what I could possibly expect or how soon I could expect some progress ?
Stupid question.. but are there any known trends as to how long this could take?Eligibility goes through 2 checks, one by case analyst(junior) and another by case officer (Senior). Analyst can only recommend and it's case officer who makes it final. It's a good sign if it is Met for you.
Nope, it totaly depends on how quickly they do the background checks for you. Since your file is stil at Ottawa, looks like it it yet to be assigned to LVO. Did you ask if Ottawa is your LVO?Stupid question.. but are there any known trends as to how long this could take?![]()

I would explain the scenario in an LOE and with an affidavit but do I have to choose yes in the field where it asks if I have ever used any other nameAgain.. wrong forum buddy.. please join other groups discussing pre ITA topics.. but yes you would need to mention your legal name change scenario..

Thanks for the response..!I had the same status last week when I called. They didn't specify if the application would move to LVO. They only mentioned that 'third party partners' would carry out background checks next.

Sounds good, well they are processing your case for sure fastNo I am not. I have applied from India
Again there are no consistencies or patterns which holds true for all. Would be wise not to speculate. Thanks for the response..!
I did not know that background check would start before eligibility check is PASSED..! Good to know..
Guess it could only be better for some part of eligibility check and background check to happen in parallel.. would save time I guess. Please tell me if I am wrong.
