Can anyone please help with IRCC's phone number? I am in USA can i call from hangouts or whatsapp?

When I called from Hangouts(from US) the IRCC number 613-944-4000 , the IRCC system detected that the origin of call was not Canada so an automated message said "the service in not available in your country".
Then I tried calling by using prefix *67 to the above number so that call is private and location is not available. This worked. I don't know if this is a correct way of doing or not. I could think of this solution only to bypass the location tracking.
Did a pile of applications just fall off an officer's desk!?

On a positive note, I nearly forgot about my PR application this weekend, thanks to a belated Diwali celebration we had in Toronto. Dancing really does help you forget!
