Members have reported both modes of PPR intimation. Generally people get either of those. Someone did report receiving it both in email and account but I think it is rare. From what I have read chances of email are far greater than notification in account.
yup agree... email usually comes ssame day case is closed... account update takes time

Okay .. not sure if your friend called from within Canada or not. I have a feeling calls within Canada may have priority. But, I may be wrong. I have tried calling them only once and I could reach them on 5th day of trying. I had the same experience where the call would just drop and not put me on queue. And in the queue I had to wait 40 minutes. Since then I have not been able to muster enough courage to call again.
What is the easiest way to get through CIC. Every single option on their IVR is programmed to say "unable to route the call to an agent". Could it be their lunch break ?
@cansha
Finally got through. I luckily found an angel of an agent who told me -

Eligibility - Passed
Criminality - Passed
Background completed and Security in progress

Been IP2 since 25th Oct.

Forgot to ask which VO but honestly, I dont think its in my hand and neither will that information help me in anyway.

Muster up the courage and call, there are angels in all shapes or forms and they are here to help.

Hey I'm glad it worked out for you. If the agent told you criminality completed and security in progress you're more likely in Ottawa.

My coping mechanism with the wait is different. The day I got to know my file is in Montreal (this was 1 August) I opened a thread for Montreal and started to collect as much data as possible for Montreal VO. There are about 50 known cases now. It is not a lot but good enough data to give me an idea how Montreal processes application. As per the trend they are now processing May first week applications. So, I will stay put till Nov 19 and then order notes or call ...

Issue with Montreal is that they do not even update status. Most people who got PPR from Montreal just got it straight from IP1. So visa office matters ... But in your case the fact that you had progress on your BG status tells me you're in Ottawa. Hope you get PPR in next two weeks.

To be honest, i think this mechanism of not having a standardised update on PRs is built on purpose. I mean its something very serious to handout a PR and if the process is known or understood, it would be very easy to crack. Thats just my 2 cents.
Given where technology is, a PPR email need not go in batches as people say but it does. They can have a gazillion statuses but they have a few.
I think variances in VOs are also purposeful so that people dont crack the code.
In this journey, all I have understood ia, if it is meant to be, it will happen. I mean, if they wanted to reject a file, they dont even have to find and give us a reason. It will work before Nov 19th and then you shall owe all May and June AORs a big treat

AOR is June 20. No update after submitting RCMP as ADR on July, though my last notes dated July 27th shows criminality is in progress and security hasn't started. Is it right time to apply CBSA/CSIS now or just applying GCMS would do?

I'm not entirely certain it is on purpose. The fact is the process .. although driven on systems is still managed by human intervention. And as everywhere not everyone is equally diligent and hence the process will always have variance. However, I do believe some VO perform better than some others. My guess for that is that when the process was created most applications were handled by Ottawa and hence they are more adept at processing them. With time, the number of applications have gone up and is now in relatively smaller VOs. It is possible these VOs don't have the same amount of experience as Ottawa employees have and hence the delay / variation.

BUT, I do agree with you .. if it is meant to be it will happen. And, you can always count on me for a big party in case I get my PPR before Nov 19. I anyways plan to host a party in Montreal :D:D:D I already love the place.

My thoughts on GCMS are well known if you have been following this forum. If not, then you can read the link in my signature and you can take a call.

Just a small stat for everyone. We were on page 521 on Oct 20 ... We are on page 630 on Oct 30 ...

My guess is we are the thread with most number of pages after one of the pinned threads !

Guess this group definitely deserves a trophy or something.
More than 100 pages in just 10 days..!!!

If this trend of too much messaging continues, Canadavisa forum might start paid membership :)
I can pay up to $10 to be here. Anything more than that would push me to the waiting game
