I *think* it's because the CAN00whatever number that you start with is a placeholder until they determine whether you're already in their system or not. If you've applied for a visa in the past, they'll assign you the same number you were assigned in the past, since you're the same "client." If you haven't applied in the past, it will be replaced with your new, official UCI. That's my impression, anyway. Anyone else have any insight on this?June 24 AoR

My BGC still says NA. Unsure if this is pre-IP1 or post-IP1. Most likely pre-IP1 since I'm an FSW-Outland applicant.
Also, my UCI changed too from something starting with 0 to something starting with 1. Does anyone know why this is done?

FSW-O, Middle Eastern country so it's odd. I would think they do triple the background checks on us. Then again, went to school in the USA so I'm pretty sure my history is very accessible to CIC.Are you CEC? which nationality?
A few of us are IP2 now. My application went to IP2 today. I'm FSW-O from the US.Anyone from June FSW Outland in NA(2) or IP(2) yet?
Got my Meds Passed and IP(1) on the 19th of June, no movement since then.
Congrats dude, I'm happy for you!A few of us are IP2 now. My application went to IP2 today. I'm FSW-O from the US.
Hiyup..
I can answer this...
2 years back I applied for visitor visa.. my UCI was generated,
this year I applied for work permit.. my UCI number same as old one.
In pr application UCI number same for me and wife which was 3 years ago for visitor visa
I have applied for and received two work permits before - I did answer "Yes" to the question if I had applied before and even entered my UCI - but so far (about two weeks since AOR) I still have just a CANxxxxx number.I *think* it's because the CAN00whatever number that you start with is a placeholder until they determine whether you're already in their system or not. Dudette ;D And no, if you're comparing to my case, my IP2 is fairly early. Some people stay in IP1 for a long time. There's not much to worry about, really, and everyone's case will be different.Congrats dude, I'm happy for you!
Should I be worried that I'm still in IP(1)? I had to produce a Police Certificate from 4 different countries (New Zealand, Australia, France, Russia), perhaps that's why IP(1) is taking a bit more time for me.
Mine changed sometime around when my meds were passed, although I don't remember exactly when.I have applied for and received two work permits before - I did answer "Yes" to the question if I had applied before and even entered my UCI - but so far (about two weeks since AOR) I still have just a CANxxxxx number.
Congrats on moving to IP2. I saw your update in tracker.I *think* it's because the CAN00whatever number that you start with is a placeholder until they determine whether you're already in their system or not.
