Hi,
I would like to know how PCC becomes a reason for rejection ?
Is it because it gets expired after 6 months ?
PCC must be valid at the time of eAPR submission. It doesn't matter if it gets expired after submission of eAPR.

PCC from current country of residence is valid for 6 months and all other country (except Canada) where an applicant lived at least 6 months in a ROW in past 10 years or since the age of 18 should be obtained after the last departure and it is valid indefinitely until the applicant revisit that country before application submission date. Police certificates meeting these requirements can be accepted even if they have an expiry date that has passed.

Common rejection reasons related to PCC-

1) PCC from current country of residence is older than 6 months.

2) PCC from current country of residence does not cover whole country means obtained from local authority instead of central authority.

3) PCC from other countries where an applicant resided 6 months in a row in past 10 years or since age of 18, was obtained before the last departure from that country. For example, applicant received PCC on 1st January 2018 but left the country 5th January 2018, this PCC and application will be rejected.

4) After getting a PCC from other countries where an applicant resided 6 months in a row in past 10 years or since age of 18, the applicant visits again that country before submitting the eAPR. This PCC and application will be rejected.

5) Original PCC scanned in color not submitted (Photocopy submitted).

6) If cannot get PCC from a particular country but applicant does not provide explanation/supporting document will be rejected.

7) Applications that do not include a required police certificate and do not provide supporting documentation where required will be rejected as incomplete

Hello All,

I need really Urgent help.

I got an email from CIC last week as follows.

The email was from:
IRCC.CPCO-FinalRequest-CTDO-DemandeFinale.IRCC@cic.gc.ca

Dear xxx,

The processing of your application for permanent residence in Canada is almost complete. You must complete the following steps within 30 days in order for our office to issue your Confirmation of Permanent Residence and, if applicable, your permanent residence visa. If for any reason you are not able to meet this deadline, please inform CPC-Ottawa immediately by email to: LDNIMMIGRATION@international.gc.ca with details concerning your situation.

It asked me for following docs.

If you require a visa to enter Canada, then submit your passport(s):

  • Please provide your valid passport or travel document and a valid passport or travel document for each accompanying family member. An accompanying family member must have his or her own passport or travel document.
  • There must be at least two blank pages in your passport(s).
  • Please note that permanent resident visas cannot be placed in Diplomatic, Official or Military passports or travel documents.
  • All passports must be intact and not worn, torn or otherwise damaged; the laminate on the bio-data page must be securely attached. Each page must be securely affixed to the passport; there cannot be any loose pages.
  • Your Permanent Resident document(s) will expire one year after the date of your medical examinations or earlier if your passport or the passports of your spouse or dependant children (if applicable) expire on an earlier date.

But my confusion is that my account is still not updated , it still shows that my background check is in process. Other worrying thing us i have not received any message in my CIC account..

Is it normal. What shoud i do, help needed.

Thanks All
congrats buddy..

Hey, I called CIC agent and she told me that eligibility is recommended pass, but has to be finalised. Also, security and criminality are pending to be checked. And my Visa Office is Ottawa and AOR- 4th July.
Can I expect my PPR in Sept ?
