Hi there - my PA received his AOR (yay!). I have not heard a peep yet, but I will sit tight for now since I hear there can be a delay.

We successfully linked his application online and he got a request to submit an FBI background check, but checking the FBI website it says it’ll take 10-12 weeks. But we see the deadline to submit the document is August 23 (5 weeks from now), so what can we do? Tried calling the CIC helpline but they have a huge wait and aren't taking any more calls.

A local service (not law enforcement) said they can do an expedited FBI background check for $200 or so, but I wanted to know if that’s safe or legit to do. Thoughts?

Yes the FBI background check takes FOREVER. The FBI received my application and fingerprints on April 21st and I got my FBI letter yesterday in the mail. That was a total of 12 weeks and 3 days. Are you a US citizen or PR? If so then you can use an FBI approved channeler. I heard that they take 1 week at the most. They do cost much more although I don't know how much. Probably the local service you are talking about is one of the FBI approved channelers. If you are a US resident on some sort of visa or another status, or lived in the US for 6 months or more in the past then unfortunately you have no other choice than to wait 10-12 weeks, which as you mentioned, is after your deadline of August 23.

Thank you for the response! Yes, this is for my fiance (the principal applicant) who is a US Citizen currently visiting Canada. Not sure if the local service is an FBI approved channeler but I will double check. Alright, we may give that a go instead of waiting the full 10 weeks! Thanks again.

What are all documents required for Spouse? Does spouse also need IETLS?

In the above link, question 8, it says:
8. Can a company outside the United States submit fingerprints to the FBI through an FBI-approved Channeler?

Only a United States company that has the statutory authority to submit fingerprints to the FBI and receive the FBI CHRI may use an FBI-approved Channeler.

This makes me doubt that the local service you are taking about may not be an FBI approved channeler since both you and your spouse are living in Canada. Remember, only an FBI approved channeler can expedite the process. May be some of these companies also operate in Canada. You could look into that.
Here's a link that may or may not be of help.

Hello
does anyone know where i can find “Schedule A Online” form
I got this email from permanent residence under the Family Class.. it asks for Schedule A Background/Declaration (IMM 5669) form and “Schedule A Online” form. I have the Schedule A Background/Declaration but i do not know what they mean or where to find “Schedule A Online” form.

Anyone know where or how to fill out this “Schedule A Online” form?

Found the problem. You guys are all in the May spreadsheet in the new consolidated version. GreenAnia, northerngirl, J0829, and you. It makes sense since your applications were received in the month of May.
