I just got the email alert that myCIC was updated but I saw that update last night (my approval) and I still have no change in ecas and no email from CIC. Any idea why there's such a discrepancy from other applications approved the same day as me?

I wouldn't worry just yet since you can't see MyCIC. With no red flags, I'd say you'll be there soon if you haven't gotten it already and are just late in the updates (like me). Because I did have (what I would consider) a red flag. I had an arrest on my police clearance but the charges were dismissed, I sent all the paperwork showing that and they never asked about it. So you should be fine!

It was a felony which the judge reduced to a misdemeanour and he had 1 year of probabtion with community service hours. That was 8 years ago (with the probation it would be 7 years ago). I'm still worried about that

I'm not too well versed in the criminal clearance process since mine didn't come up. Question though: is your husband in Canada or is he allowed to enter Canada? Because (I think) if he is allowed in, I would say he is not inadmissible and therefore the charge shouldn't come up. BUT I can't be sure. The good thing is that since it's been over 5 years since the sentence was completed, if you need to you can apply for criminal rehabilitation. It will add a bit of wait time, but worth it if it gets him in.

And to be fair, they always tell you that just because one CBSA officer made a decision, it doesn't mean the next one can't make a completely different decision. I have flown into Canada many many times since my arrest and NEVER had it brought up. But when I drove across the border and my boyfriend was importing his car, they did a background check on me and said I was inadmissible unless I could show proof that the charges were dropped. Which I didn't have on me because I had completely forgotten about the arrest. Then the officer called me back up and said she would treat it as a juvenile offence (I was 18 when arrested) and let me go. Which sounds like a load of crap to me haha. I think she probably realized only the arrest showed up and no charge so she had to let me go.

Guidance Required

I just started filling application forms and have a question about Generic Application Form where in Dependent column should i fill my details as a Sponsor or should i leave it blank.

2.My wife is in India and has two passports out of which the old one has some water marks and hence decided for applying a new one. Should i include old passport as well .

i am not sure about the 1st question .
but for 2nd i had same issue . my wife had 2 passports , old with her family name and the new one with mine . you need to include the most recent one .

Today I login again and finally see my application is approved!!!!ECAS shows decision made too!
Omg I cant believe it would be so fast! Still no e-mail though.

If you are the sponsor, then you are not a dependent. Your dependents would be your children.
