She definitely is in for a surprise! It has been dropping down to 12C here at night and this morning I woke up to find fresh snow on the mountain tops. Winter is coming!

I'm not looking forward to it at all. I could go without snow or winter for the rest of my life lol.

I thought third line on PA side was AOR2. I guess I was mistaken. My apologies.

Most VO will send PA an email similar to AOR1 that the sponsor gets. It's a generic email that requests docs if not submitted and explains the process a bit.

When PA's ecas says in process it means the file is at the overseas VO and that generally means SA unless they ticked off the "continue processing if sponsor is ineligible" box that nobody in their right mind should do unless they know they don't qualify to be a sponsor and the PA plans to appeal the inevitable refusal on H&C grounds.

I took a glance at NDVO 2015 spreadsheet and the tendency seems to be roughly about a year for the whole process.

Yeah, except almost all NDVO Feb 2016 applicants mysteriously got PPR and DM in May which prompted a trip to my MP office to ask why a country with a longer process time was giving DM in 2 months and SVO slow as molasses.

Thank you. I looked at the same, and found that the whole process took about one year for 2015 applicants, however, for late (december) 2015 and early 2016 applicants, it's about half a year. This hopefully is a sign of improvements to streamline the process.

That's so weird. Did you get any answer why this happened?

No, the MP assistant I spoke with essentially didn't believe me and just ended up needlessly doing a case specific MP enquiry to the Montreal call centre on my behalf..

I had the similar letter sent for New Delhi. How long are you expecting it to take for the next step(s)? I'm assuming it won't take the 18-19 months as CIC laid out.

Hope for the best ,by this year end I am expecting .

Hey all.

First I'd like to say that each and everyone of you is doing an amazing job here and this group surely boosts everyone up!!

Second

I submitted my application on June 16. Got my AOR1 on July 5. Got PA email on August 12.

Now on Monday the SA changed from "application received" to "In Process". I know this must be a repeated question but I am a new member here. I didn't get any email regarding AOR2 yet. Should I call CIC to confirm or is it normal for them to take this much time? I would appreciate if someone could please elaborate this for me.

Also I noticed on CIC website that process times have changed from 19 Months to 13 Months. That effects us as well or only the people who applied in specific time frames?

Thanks in advance and have a good day!! Also please add me in spreadsheet!!

If the process time changes that means that is how long cic is currently processing 80% of applications within and would be applicable to all files under process. The posted times are not at all accurate and with a straight forward application you can expect to take much less time than posted.

Thanks a lot for explaining. Another thing is that I already got an email for CIC regarding my SA and that I meet requirements of a sponsor and my file is being transferred to VO in New Delhi. Now what should I be expecting next??

The email was sent to me on August 12 and the PA status changed to "in process" on Monday

The PA will get the AOR2 email if sent.

Next step is to wait unfortunately.

I've been doing just that with silence from my VO since April

If you are a citizen you may spend as much time outside of Canada as you wish.

If you are a PR I'd keep it to 2-3 weeks tops.
