HI proudCanadian15
Thank you.
Even my application was received on 29th June 2016, where as AOR1 is saying it's received on 28th June 2016.
We are in the same boat then. Still no news of AOR1 in my case though. I guess I will just have wait patiently. One question. Do they(cic) send AOR1 email to sponsor email account or to the sponsored person's email account?

I am sponsoring my wife. I got email on Saturday 11:43AM to my email id.

After seeing couple of package returns. I was literally scared and checking my mail box every day by keeping my eyes closed and praying.

As per the current trend, it's taking 18 to 20 days for AOR1.

I was expecting I might get today. But luckily I got 3 days before (Saturday)

Thanks newbee1990 for the reply. I am sponsoring my wife as well. I am getting a little scared now. Let's hope the AOR1 will come this week for me.

Sponsor email, I believe. My husband, who's sponsoring me, got the email. We still can't log in to ecas, so we're just patiently waiting.

The worst case scenario would be returned package, lately I saw already two cases. So lets hope that we get straight SA, omitting AOR1.
Where are the two cases reported on the forum? how long did it take for the package to be returned from the application received date? Was an email sent too?

If your application is returned you will not recieve AOR1 nor an email warning you of its return.

There will be a letter with your application outlining what is missing.

How long it takes varies.

It took almost exactly one month from file recieved to AOR1 when I applied in February.

The SA timeline has gone from 39 days to 56 days since then.

I think that given the longer timeline for SA, that they are receiving more applications right now, or have less case workers working on them and that they haven't opened your file yet.

If you are worried you could always call the CIC call centre.

Okay so I just realized that we made a mistake on one of the forms. Where they ask if the princiapl applicant has ever been denied a visa anywhere, we did answer "yes" and explained that my husband was denied a TRV to Canada last year when I was pregnant. However, we completely forgot to mention that he was denied a tourist visa to Japan years ago (he's from Manila). It may or may not be a big deal, but we weren't trying to hide anything. We mentioned it when he applied for his TRV last year, so obviously we're not trying to keep anything from CIC. I'm just worried that they might see the inconsistency and think that we were trying to hide something. Should I tell them about the mistake? (June applicant here.)

It is always nice to inform cic about any mistake or any change.

It can be big deal if they find any inconsistency within your file. Just send them new form or send them email explaining the mistake you did.

Hi

Yes, it is a very big deal.

It is misrepresentation.

CIC takes that question and refused visas very seriously.

It is likely if you did nothing that your husband would be issued a procedural fairness letter and subsequent 5 year ban if you do not correct it.

It does not matter that it was mentioned on a previous application.

You must inform CIC and send an updated form with a brief explanation cover letter explaining that it was an error that you are correcting.

Do this as soon as possible.

You have AOR1 but no SA correct?

If this is the case, have your husband refill and sign the form. Scan it and upload it via case specific enquiry and send it to CPC-M.

This way you have an email record of trying to correct the issue as soon as possible.

Once the file is transferred to Manila, have him send the physical copy to MVO as well as another CSE to MVO through email.

In the cover letter use all the personal information about you and your husband as you have (file number, name, dob, UCI etc) and simply state that you have realized an error in form IMM5669 and you want to correct it.
