Let me know if IRCC is able to put a note on your file for the time you're going to be away. I'm planning a trip in Dec as well. When I took the test, the officer only asked for dates ppl are going to be away in the next three months, so they did write down on my file that I'll be away for 2 weeks in Oct. I was hoping that I will get invited before Dec and plus is not within the 3 months, so I didn't tell them about my plan for Dec

So I did call IRCC today as I had sent the letter informing about my vacation in December. The letter is on my file and there is still no oath ceremony scheduled for my application. I asked her if there would be any reason why for my application it is taking so long after DM to be scheduled for an oath and she replied with the standard answer that it is 12 month processing time . When I asked her if there is any rationale behind scheduling practice as there are applicants from same cities receiving oath shortly after DM even if they had test and DM after others.... she couldn't answer this. But I do have to say that the lady in the call centre was a pleasure to talk to as she did provide as much info as she could and was very friendly!

I guess I will just stop hoping for oath invite soon and stop checking my eCas daily as it is depressing to follow it and also the statistics. Sorry for the rant just feel down right now

My application is still at in progress after taking the test on 9th Sept still waiting for my security clearance.

38 days passed after test still no decision made for me.

It looks almost like you and me are the only ones from June that are waiting to have the application finalized and become citizens......

Didn't take them to my test as it didn't ask for them in the invite letter....but if you have them already printed you could. Won't hurt.

Welcome back Michelle, hope you had a great trip. Don't know if you read my post about the letter but you had asked me to let you know if the letter to inform about future vacations is put on file. My letter to the local office apparently did reach my file and was noted.

I became Permanent residence of Canada day I arrived i.e. 13th July 2016.
I will be staying in Canada until December 19th 2016 says about 159 day’s from 13th July 2016 and will return to DUBAI for next 1.5 years 15 months from December 19th 2016 onwards.
My question is as to keep my PR status valid I must stay in Canada for minimum of 2 years out of 5 years. So if I come back in 2018 July will I be able to renew my PR card without any problem or I may be short of 730 days.
My PR card is valid until 2021 August
I understand, if I arrive in 2018 July and then stay back until 2021 I am good to go, please advice
July 13th 2016 –to- 19th December 2016 = days physically present is 159
Now from 2018 July to 2021 August = it will be more than 730 days as per calculator it is 2018=171 days, 2019= 365, 2020=366 & 2021=232 so in total will be 1134 counting from 2018 year and I believe my current stay i.e. from July 13th2016 –to- 19th December 2016 with 159 days will also be counted.
Number of days physically present per calendar year towards my PR renewal will be 1294 days. Please correct me please

For PR renewal you should try in Permanent Residence Obligation forum. That will be more helpful.

As per Law for PR renewal from last 5 years you need physical presence of 730 days only.

This is law but the dark chapter is if your are working in middle east or any other countries during these 5 year period then applications for PR renewal mostly will go in secondary review route.

At the present secondary review is taking 18-24 months.

So too early to predict CIC can change rules any time.

Thanks Rigly, I did see your comment about the letter you sent. Hope you can get your invite soon. I'm trying to do the same thing, not checking on ecas as often.
