I sent my application in earlier this month too. So there's no way to check on your application? Is there a number I can punch in on the CIC website to see where my application is?

Not until your received AOR.

Delivered!!! Now waiting waiting waiting....

Is there a list of all these acronyms used on this forum? My mind boggles everytime I read half of these posts :(

I was the same way when I started! https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1FAYZyQgud1lzp7fM28i2O8ZrfbMAxdTc_t7_fiwI6ak/htmlview?pli=1# In this spreadsheet one of the pages is titled Acronyms, you will find most acronyms that are used on the forum in that sheet.

And just in case you don't know, AOR is Acknowledgement of Receipt.

Thank you SO MUCH, this will definitely help. I've bookmarked this for future reference. :P

For those already in Canada: any Canada Day plans? We have a 1 y/o, so I don't think we'll go to Parliament Hill, but I'm sure there's lots of other fun stuff to do.

Applied 25 June 2015, now we wait. BTW, how come the spreadsheets I see show that generally applications take MUUCHH less time than showed on the CIC website????

@ abddayo: Several reasons I'm guessing:
- Easy cases are processed faster than complicated ones. The time mentioned on the CIC website is the time required to complete 80% of the applications, which means it includes a lot of non-straight forward cases. This affects the time required.
- People on this forum are more likely to be prepared well, giving lots of evidence and ensuring their application is complete. This means less documents that need to be sent again, and other delays.
- A lot of easier cases are processed at either Ottawa or Mississauga nowadays, and those processing centres are way faster than most visa offices.

Hello if someone could please add my name in spreadsheet
Sent application on June 29 and recvd on June 30

Thanks

@Jack2014: I've added you to the spreadsheet. You should be able to update the dates yourself.

Hello all...there is also a 2015 Outland applications spreadsheet if you want to see how things are going globally for 2015 applications.... https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1FAYZyQgud1lzp7fM28i2O8ZrfbMAxdTc_t7_fiwI6ak/edit#gid=658388151

Hi,

Couple of questions:

Anyone else here sponsoring anyone from Lima, Peru?
Also, does the Mississauga office verify the application contents upon receiving? Would they notify if anything is out of order?

Thanks,

Carlos

Hola!
I'm sponsoring from Lima too. I'm glad to hear from you because we are very few from Lima. Keep us posted

I don't think they verify the contents as soon as they receive the application. But as it processes, they will let you know if anything is missing or if they need something else and they will request more documents from you. Usually you have 30 days to send them whatever they requested. They won't just deny your application if something is missing, but it will extend your processing time.
