The good news: "We have now completed the initial assessment of your application, and expect to finalize your application without a personal interview."
The not so good: "In order to continue processing your application, the following is required:
- IMM 5409—Statutory Declaration of Common-law Union form: please provide a signed and completed Statutory Declaration of Common-Law Union form (IMM 5409) bearing original signatures.
- Two (2) passport-size photographs. (Photographs must conform to the Permanent Resident Card Photo Specifications.)"
The IMM 5409 is not required, per the instructions, but has been asked for from a number of common-law applicants of late, judging from discussions in the forums here. We will courier it off tomorrow.
I don't understand the photograph request. I sent 4 with the original application as per the instructions. These are clearly identified as being needed for my PR card. Were the photos I originally sent rejected for not meeting specifications, or is this something else? Another mystery of CIC, I suppose
