What number are you using to check? If it's just your receipt number then that doesn't seem to work for most.

Ahh thank you because yes I was using my receipt number because that is all I have! Thank you...another sigh of relief!

Got SA today, ;D

The police certificate I need is from Colombia, and for both outland and inland they ask you to wait until you get instructions and a number from the Visa Office to do it so I'm still waiting!

AOR = acknowledgement of receipt
SA = sponsorship approval
PPR= passport request
ECAS = the database where you can check the status of your application
DM = Decision Made
inland applications = the person to be sponsored is already in Canada, the full application is assessed in Mississauga (someone correct me if I'm wrong on this)
outland applications = the second half of the application is assessed by a visa officer in the principal applicant's country.

Thanks a ton that u ans my query. The steps which u mentioned is this same followed by visa office?

Like first AOR> SA> PPR > so on as u mentioned. For getting file processed.

Hey everyone, we're patiently waiting. We were able to log into ECAS and it says is that our application was received June 9th. For what it's worth, it's nice to be recognized in the system haha.

Does anyone else find it frustrating that you drive yourself crazy following all the paperwork word for word and being as exact as possible throughout that application process, yet things on the other end are all over the place ie. people who receive AOR, reliability of ECAS, responses from CIC etc.

Also, after having gone through the application, I now feel qualified to fill out any form or tackle any sort of paperwork for as long as I live. ^^

If you take a closer look, in smaller print it should say in process, so you should hear soon... good luck

We don't have SA, no 'in process' yet. Next week will be our week though - fingers crossed!
