I think it means the application is in order, as in: it was found to seem complete and good enough to move on to the next step. It shouldn't be returned at this point.

I received email from CIC that my citizenship application is received

But cannot access Ecas? Is anybody facing the same issue

I received the following email:

UCI: ********
Application No.: C********
Quote these numbers when corresponding with our office.

This is an automated message. Please DO NOT RESPOND to this message.

Dear *********,

This confirms that your application for Canadian Citizenship has been received by Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) on 2014/07/17.

To become a Canadian citizen, persons aged 18 to 54 years must meet language and knowledge requirements:

• You must know enough English or French to carry on a simple conversation.
• You must know enough about Canada's history, geography and government, and the rights and responsibilities of
citizenship to pass a written or oral test.

Questions testing the knowledge requirement are based on the information provided in the study guide. The study guide
is available on the Citizenship and Immigration Canada Web site at http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/publications/discover/index.asp

When your application has been reviewed and has met basic eligibility, Citizenship and Immigration Canada will invite you
to a knowledge test, interview or ceremony, if applicable. Please visit our Web site http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/ciizenship/cit-test.asp for information to prepare for these events.

Hello. I also received the same e-mail message a few weeks ago, but only after I inquired about the status of my application. I think that means everything is in place regarding your application and it's just a matter of waiting for further notice.

@jhjeppe

How come you applied for Citizenship ? One year in advance ...I saw your timeline besides your Name...?

Ok , I had not checked my ECAS for at least 10 days and it seems like my received line has disappeared.

However, I received a mail from CIC yesterday asking me to fill out the RQ. I guess its a long long wait for me now. :(

btw, does the letter ask you to send documents to Mississauga office or St.Claire? what is the date on the letter?
it would be helpful for other applicants if you share more info, like what documents CIC asking for. Thanks

RQ issued before test are processing very fast. I think within few months you will get test notice. Best of luck.

Any clues what might've triggered your RQ ? Can you give us more insight on your application ?

Receiving RQ means the app has been transferred to local office?

not necessarily. RQ can be issued by Sydney or the local office.
