someone on the jul or August page - has been told by CIC that the wait is 20 months now - and that they have to update the website :/
I will definitely have lost a job if that's the case ....

I just applied for BOWP and I hope that I get it by mid-february at the latest (If I don't get PPR by then). When I filed my CEC application, I never thought I would have to apply for BOWP. And now it looks like I may not even get it in time before my existing work permit expires. And they ask you to apply only if your current work permit is expiring in 4 months or less. Stupid. :(

Based on the recent news , I have come to know that , CIC have a target to take 25000 refugees in 2015 as promised by Liberal party so far they have taken only 10000..........15000 more to be taken in just two months and It looks like Whole CIC staff is concentrating on this task ..........so we PR applicants are now less priority :( and thus they simply moved our files for next year ....that explains 20 months :-[

As per one of the links posted yesterday in the forum the 25000 quota is not limited to EE it will cover the back log from older system as well.

The change of wait time increasing to 20 months does not make sense. If I remember correctly some time back someone was told by CIC helpdesk that the processing time has changed to 15 months its just matter of update in the website, which never happened. Also when I called and made an inquiry about that timeline I was told nothing of that sort had been communicated to them.

Things to be noted is MP can only request for information from CIC. They cannot push/force CIC to make any decisions. I am assuming they generally follow the same process of communication with CIC like us difference being the faster response.

I would not buy into the 20 months processing time. How is that one fine morning someone from CIC realizes that they are going to need 20 months not 16 or 17 months. The processing time is an average based on the cases which have decision made/pr granted. I dont think it represents a timeline which is decided randomly.

I know this is really tough for all of us. And we have seen speculations floating around.

The response from MP is what he was notified which either he/she did not bother to cross examine. So I would still hold on to the current time lines. This might come back and bite me in the ahem!! which I wish do not happen and I am still hopeful that things will start moving again.

Best Regards,

My friend I do realize that the timeline of 14 months definitely has passed for June applicants. However I still want to believe that the timeline of 20 months is a rumour/speculation.

I am not making judgement calls on my earlier post. I am equally frustrated but I like to keep my hopes up.

I simply stated that the timelines changing to 20 months does not seem to be very apt. It could be a very generic response from CIC just to avoid further enquiries.

I just got new GCMS notes:

Nobody has touched my file since March 8th.
Criminality still in progress, despite the fact both sub-tasks under Criminality are complete with "No reportable trace" for 14 months now.
Security not started
Eligibility: Recommended pass since February, no 2nd review
Medical: Passed on March 8th
RPRF: Paid

No negative comments whatsoever.

The file has been transferred only once: from the centralized intake office in Sydney to Ottawa. That has happened 14 months ago today.

I signed this petition like 3-4 months ago. Everyone please go ahead and sign it. I know that it may not speed up our application processing at all but seems like there isn't anything else we can do anyways.

Just search for express entry once you are on the website and it will be the 3rd link on the list
