Hello Paras_tcs,

Thanks for details.

I called CIC, agent first said that Time line is 15 month now and then he said its 14 month and I can not open your file before that, as you didn't completed the 14th month time. When I said please recalculate the time, he said, yes its crossed 14 month, let me try to open your file. then he told me some basic information which is in the 1st page of my GCMS note and then he said Background checking is going on call us on Dec end, if you don't heard any thing from us till then..

Did he mention if they calculate the 14/15 months from the date the application is received or the date when they start processing it?

Wow and I thought waiting 4 months for a +LMO back in 2012 was a stressful process.

Hi Guys,

This is the reply I got CIC when inquired on my Appln. status

Dear *********,

Please note that we cannot confirm when your file will be ready for finalization.

The Canadian Experience Class (CEC) is a popular program, and CIC received a high volume of CEC paper applications prior to the launch of Express Entry on January 1, 2015. These applications continue to be processed.

Processing time for people who applied to CEC is available on our website. This information is updated quarterly.

Please consult our website for posted processing times: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm-ec.asp

We do not require any information from you at the present time. An officer will contact you if further information is required. Please ensure when submitting documents that they are still valid and will not expire within 6 months as this could delay your application.

We appreciate your patience and ask that you keep correspondence with our office to a minimum. In order to process requests efficiently, we will not be responding to duplicate requests.

Hi,

I am June 2014 applicant and waiting for my PPR (upfront RPRF) as every one else. My five years term in Canada is going to over in March 2016. I am on closed work permit and my attorney told me that my work permit cannot be extended more than 5 times (5 years). Can I switch from closed work permit to BOWP and stay in Canada and keep continue working here. I am not sure if I have to have exit Canada after one year.

Seniors, please advise.

I am an August applicant and I am in a very similar situation. Currently I am on closed work permit that will end at the end of March 2016. The company that I work for told me that they would need to apply for another LMO in order to extend my current work permit. They said that that would be more complicated with the new rules (I don't know anything about that). Anyway they suggested me to apply for a BOWP. I will do that in December. Hopefully that will give me one more year that I can stay and work here in Canada and for my application to be finalized or - in the worst case scenario - to apply through the EE if my current CEC application is not completed.

I would also suggest you to apply for a BOWP as soon as you are allowed to do (4 months before your current WP expires). The only problem would be if we don't receive the BOWP in time and our WP expires, we will not be able to leave and come back to Canada (we will have to stay here during that period on implied status).
