Hello Everyone,

I would like to first thank everyone in this forum, you guys really provided all the information i needed for the interview. I will do my best to provide you all information you guys needed:

Feb 2010: CSQ file received in Montreal office
Aug 2010: Invitation Letter for an interview (I postponded this date to Sep 24, 2010 because of personal reasons)
Sep 24, 2010: Interview at Montreal Office
Sep 28, 2010: CSQ received in mail

I went to the interview 30 mins before starting time (10 AM). I dressed formal, organized all documents that he could asked. Practiced my french with friends and was actually ready for a battle :) To my surprise the interview was not even close to a battle. The interviewer called my name 30 mins late (So i basically waited 1 hr, super annoying but all was good at the end).

He asked me very basic questions, like my name, DoB, education, work experience and why do i want to choose Quebec. He did not look at lot of documents, i had like 40 original documents with me :( Interview lasted about 35 mins.

After that he said the interview is over. I was a little surprise as why is he not telling me about my CSQ. He said his PC is not working and he needs to print my CSQ later and he will mail it to me. I did not like this at first, felt like coming out of an interview room without job offer. Anyway, i got my CSQ letter in mail just couple of days later.

The key points he was looking for i guess were my adaptabiliy in Quebec society, my education+work experience and my french. I scored good in all of those criteria.

This is it from me, i wish everyone else success and ask them to be serious about quebec culture and values. Do put some effort in learning french and knowing about its system.

Au revoir

Hi Eng_Mtl,

Thank you very much for the information you provided. I have a few questions to you:

1- Did you apply from Quebec or From Canada (outside quebec)?
2- Did you choose to make interview in NY or Montreal?
3- I understand you was invited to make an interview in August 2010 but you postpone it, when did you get this invitation?

Thanks,
- Ammar

Hi Eng,

Thanks for your detail message,

Well, you mentioned that " He asked me very basic questions, like my name, DoB, education, work experience and why do i want to choose Quebec. He did not look at lot of documents, i had like 40 original documents with me :( Interview lasted about 35 mins."

So, all these convesation was in French or English, if it is in English then did the officer asked you any thing in french like greetings or something ?

Please let me know,

Sricky.

Hi Ammar,

1- Did you apply from Quebec or From Canada (outside quebec)?
I applied from Quebec, Montreal i have been a student here for 1.5 yrs now.

2- Did you choose to make interview in NY or Montreal?
No option was given to me, they gave Montreal as my interview place.

3- I understand you was invited to make an interview in August 2010 but you postpone it, when did you get this invitation?
I got my letter for interview on July 20, 2010 for an interview on Aug 24, 2010. Which i postponded to Sep 24, 2010 as I was out of Canada at that time.

The interview questions were all in french. No english was used, only at times where I struggled to answer some of his questions he helped me by translating in English.

I hope this helps your questions.

Thank you man, this is helpful.

guys, I have a problem. My credit card got upgraded and the old one is not valid now. How should I inform immigration in Quebec about that? !!

They didn't charge my CC yet :(

Thanks,
-Khaled

KAMMAR

why would u send an application with a credit card which is about to be expired soon??..

Anyhow..better you call them ...because if your card is expired that means no payment.. application would be returned without even opening...so try to communicate with them!

Good luck!

Shahi

The Credit Card didn't expire yet,

My bank upgrade it to a highier level and inactivate it without telling me!!!
I made a complain for Bank of Toronto but this doesn't change the fact.

Do you know how could I contact them? Phone? email? mail?

Thanks for any help,
- Khaled

Congrats, Eng! Quick question - what level of French did you claim on your application? Just curious. Thanks!
