I have similar question. I am currently working under noc 2112 in Canada since september 2021. In September 2021, i had positive lmia and my current work permit, and job offer obviously. my questions:

1. Can I claim and get points for Valid job offer in Canada?
2. If yes, Is there anything I should ask my employer to do for me so that I can claim this? or can I still use the same job offer I got last year September?

I wanted to clarify this because I didn't claim that I have valid job offer when I applied express entry under CEC.

TIA.
You cannot use your job offer which was used to obtain the work permit to claim 50 points. You need a new job offer letter which states you have a permanent job and for at least one year once you receive PR status. Requirements for the job offer are posted on this website, so you'll need to ask your employer to give you a new letter and having that statement about 1 year minimum post PR is very crucial "your current employer made you an offer to give you a full-time job for at least one year if you’re accepted as a permanent resident " - https://www.canada.ca/en/immigration-refugees-citizenship/services/immigrate-canada/express-entry/documents/offer-employment.html

Your job offer must:

  • be recent (usually less than 1 year old)
    • You can’t use the same job offer letter that you used to get your work permit.

does my employer have to apply LMIA again? My lmia was issued on July 2021 last year.

If you have a valid work permit issued based on LMIA then I don’t think you need another LMIA.
All you need is your current work permit to be valid, lmia and a new job offer letter from the employer.

What happens if you lose your job after AOR and claimed 50 points?

It depends on timing. If IRCC is still conducting eligibilty checks and determines someone is no longer employed with their employer, they would naturally lose the 50 points.

Until you receive the PR , you are supposed to keep IRCC updated of your situation.. but yes after eligibility checks are done there’s a slight chance they wouldn’t find out but good chances for losing the 50 points here

I have 2+ years of Canadian experience and overall 12 years of experience ( 5 years in US and 5 in India), with 34 age , valid job offer and perfect 10 in English, I am at 508. I am trying to have my wife give celpip in order to increase the score further but that will probably take it to 512-520 range depending on her score , so I am no where near 550
How come you are at 508 with 10 years of foreign work experience? Are you not using your foreign experience in the application?

That seems like quite a big risk right now with the economy... Without LMIA there is no stress of job loss since CEC doesnt depend on that but without LMIA also points nowhere near enough.... very tricky

I am , you can check the crs calculator , I am 34 with a bachelors, celpip-12/11/10/9 , and a wife but no eca, ielts for her. Foreign experience points are only awarded for 3 years I think as they ask you in last 10 years how many years of foreign experience and the answer says 3 years or more. Even if you declare all your past experience the points are only for 3 years of foreign experience per my understanding
