Hey guys, here is the timeline thus far for a family of 3 in Hamilton.

Application: July 19
AOR: July 29
Test invite: Sept 21 (Oct4-Nov2)
Background completion: Sept 26

I have few queries
1. Are fingerprints requested specifically for background check? Now that my background check is done, I won’t be asked for fingerprints? Asking bcoz I am travelling international for a month after my Citizenship test.

2. Do I have to let IRCC know that I am away for a month? I assume after test process is gonna take 2-3 months until oath ceremony and I will be back by then. Is there any case they would be needing me in Canada physically?

3. while my and spouse’s background checks are done, my kid’s background check is still I. Progress. Is this normal?

Added your info to spreadsheet.

1. Yes, fingerprints are for clearing criminality which is part of background check. Since your BG completed already, you will not be asked for fingerprints, unless in rare circumstances when the application is pending for over a year.

2. Per IRCC, you are advised to inform them via a webform if you are going out of Canada for more than 2 weeks. In case they schedule an in-person interview (which they do for certain cases) you are supposed to be physically present in Canada. If you are outside, you can inform them about the same and request for rescheduling it after your return and mostly they agree.

3. Minors kids are exempt from BG, Test, Language etc so you wont see any progress in their tracker for any of these. It will only update when they schedule the oath for the family.

Congratulations, spreadsheet updated.

Is your test scheduled already? If so could you please share the date it was updated and the test window.
Thank you! Hi, I have not yet scheduled the test. The test invite email came in today. Quick question - Is webform the best way to inform the CIC about my new home address?
