Hi everyone,

New to the forum. I was hoping to see where folks with same application date are in their application process.

Location: Vancouver
Paper application

Application filed: July 9 2021
Background: August 25, 2021

No updates after this. My kids didnt even get background check done yet.
Is this normal or should I start contacting IRCC? Some of my friends who applied the same time, even later than me already received test invitations.

I don't think kids have BGC done . As its just parents have to get BGC .

Passed test - March 29th, fingerprint submitted - March 17th.

I completed the background check on March 10 (I didn't received any email about it) but haven't received any invite for the test. It only shows "Not started".

How long does it take for FP to get updated in the tracker ? not looking for an official 3-6weeks answer, question is for those who have given FP

  • Fingerprint-based Background Check: This check is conducted by any agencies accredited by the RCMP (including some local police). It is done by capturing your fingerprints and submitting them to the RCMP for processing. Your unique fingerprints, along with your name and date of birth are checked against the National Criminal Repository Database. The RCMP will issue an official certificate indicating whether or not a criminal record was found. The normal processing time is 3 business days (up to 120 days if you ever had a criminal record) and the certificate will be mailed to your chosen address by regular mail. The mailing time could be between 1-2 weeks depending on Canada Post. Regardless of which agency or local police that you went to for your fingerprints, there is no exception to the process and mailing time.
