Hi guys

Some interesting and depressing information somebody wrote on forum:
Prior to Covid-19 lockdown, I read in some of these forums that Scarborough office was handling 600 cases per week. That's about 2,400 per month.
Hopefully, Canada-wide, the pre Covid-19 figures would may have been about 8,000 to 10,000 per month . So about less than 21 to 24 months to clear the backlog of 210,000 during pre-covid times

And now with the current 210,000 pending applications, what is the monthly average of completed cases and when would the pace increase back to the pre-covid levels? In absence of communication from IRCC, We can only estimate the timeline for clearance of the backlog

Don't worry, it's very very likely that this is not true.

Hello Friends,
I have question related to application which is being returned to me in Feb because my partner forgot to sign one of the document , now my query is can I sent back the same application package with one new document OR should i fill new citizenship forms

Hi, sorry to hear. I would send all new forms. Also, sometimes cic updates forms. Make sure you fill in the most recent forms

Thanks for confirming and setting down my blood pressure :D
In fact according to IRCC's website

Make sure you use a version of the application form dated October 2017 or later. You can find the version date on the bottom left corner of the form. For example, “CIT 0002 (01-2019)” means the version date is January 2019. The date you sign or mail your form does not change the version date.

If you submit your application on a form with a version date older than October 2017, we’ll return it to you and ask you to resubmit your application using the newest version of the form.

If you used a version of the form dated October 2017 or later and we returned it to you as incomplete, you don’t need to use the newest version of the form to resubmit your application. You can resubmit it using the same form once you get the missing information or documents.

As long as you do not use a version older than October 2017 you should be good.

Hi i would say it is more true than not true. I work in government and all covid procedures are tough. I see cic reducing in office staffing to 50% capacity work from home, etc.

Hi, my point is that we have no way of confirming any numbers in that text except for 210000 backlog. But, in 4 months, the maximum amount of backlog that can accrue is 4 months. It means that unless there was already a backlog of 15-17 months, which we know is not true, there is no way there can be 20-21 months of backlog.
