Hello everyone, please a quick question:

I’m currently in Canada and had applied and obtained my PCC from my country shortly before covid happened. The PCC has expired (the validity is 3 months from the date of issue which was February).

Do you think I can still use it for the PR application?

As per IRCC:

For countries in which the applicant no longer resides, the police certificate must have been issued after the last time the applicant stayed in that country for 6 months or more in a row.

So your PCC is good if it meets the above. You can submit your application with the PCC you have and include a LoE explaining the situation. If IRCC wants a new one, they would ask.

Upfront Medical done, all documents uploaded except PCC from Hong Kong. Stupid system that requires request letter from IRCC, and they will mail PCC to IRCC directly, which is out of my control:(

Its a normal process, many applicants get It done. Check on the forum and you will find past precedents.

How is your application processed?

All application are processed under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act. The stages that they go though are:

1. R10 (Completeness check)
2. Medicals
3. Criminality
4. A11.2 Eligibility (The most important stage)
5. Security

To read on the stages, see https://bit.ly/3bzRxN8

During R10 ( Completeness check) do they check personal history, travel history along with the documentation?

I have submitted by PR application on July 6. Today I realised that the LOE was missing under optional documents section, though I am sure that I have added LOE. I assume that it is generic UI glitch. If not, can someone tell me what I am suppose to do?

The upload window for the LoE sometimes disappears. If you re-log in form a different browser, or clear the cache and log back in, you will see it again.

Hi @legalfalcon , I got my gcms notes. It says eligibility met, criminality passed and officer final review is as follows “ I’m satisfied that PA meets requirements of r75 and r76, criminality: passed background info, travel history, info sharing , pcc: no concerns
item to be requested/next step: Pasports, photos , RFV Checks-FINDEC
Could you kindly help unpack the info.
Many Thanks
