Hi july 27th applicant here. We recieved our AOR2 today after passing the medical on December 5th. The letter only says that the file has been transferred to london visa office. Does that mean our background check has started or is about to start?

They will tell u on the phone or online whether BGC started. Through your account.

Yes check both phone online and it will move ahead, it’s very hard but will happen.

Guys, those are from June and July. If we consider this example it took more then 5 months to get BGC complete. Could be that outsource agency took this mush of time. As most of our files are transferred in December again for us it will take around 5 months+ as well that means we should not expect anything soon. Do you think guys we will get no sooner then May-June??

Hello Everyone,

Happy new year, and hope there will be good news from July applicants soon. Question, I am planning to apply for a TRV soon, it is a gamble, but we had a terror attack in my home country and my husband is not feeling safe here anymore. The alternative is to try and see whether I can travel to Canada and we wait for the PR from there. We had travelled to the US for December holiday and came back so maybe that might help to show I will return back.

Are you looking to enter Canada under dual intent? If so, that is what my husband and I are doing in February. For dual intent, it is best to have SA first. So I would bring any and all documents sent to you for immigration (AOR 1, AOR2 , Sponsor Approval). I would bring all emails/letters, a printout of your ECAS showing SA as well as what stage your husbands timeline is at, as well as GCKEY. I would also show proof of funds to support yourselves while in the country, as well as round trip tickets to show that the PA will leave after their allotted time if they have not received PR yet. If you are in Canada and your time is about to expire, you can apply online to extend your travel visa / visitor visa .

If you are not planning on entering Canada under dual intent, I am sorry for so much info that doesnt apply to you !

You can call the automated line, 1 888 242 2100, select Option 1, 1 then enter your file number and principal applicant's year of birth. Then select option 2 and then Option 3.
Automated system should be able tell you all the notes on your file.

I tried that option yesterday as I was not sure if our BGC started. It stated that mine didn't start yet.

Too bad...I even sent an email to change my contact address, not even a response within the 28 days they claimed to reply...wish there's something I can do to change this. Fingers crossed prayerfully.
