I agree. Also I am thinking that they open all applications as they receive them and quickly look through them. A late Sept applicant also from US got a file number. So that means they open them and see which country and if easier to process they hand it over to Missisaauga office for processing while others do not even receive any correspondence from them at all. June and July applicants are still waiting so how come Sept applicants got AOR already?

Idk, I personally think people just look into it too much. Yeah, it sucks waiting, but you just need to be patient. Sooner or later, you'll hear something back, and that something will either be positive or negative, but it'll be something. They'll happen at their own times, so it doesn't matter if you're a June or July or September applicant, or whenever you applied. So I don't think it should be a question of "well this person got aor (or whatever status), why didn't I?" That's not what it's about.

Those are most likely applicants from the US. Theirs are processed faster than everyone else most of the time.
Yes, you're right. they treat US citizens as inlands too.
but it is said that some applicants from Philippines got their AOR, maybe that's a good news. they starting out-outlands too!
we called them 2 days ego asking why Sep. applicant are getting AOR while our files is not even touched, and the agent just said cases are different and they don't treat all files the same. she didn't explain what are these differences!

So question for people who have done their medicals and passed it. After you went and took the medical did your GCKey change from medical request to medical received or did you just get updated that you passed?

Once you pass the medical, GCKey would say that you have passed.

I am not really fussed about why I didnt get mine yet. I just wanted to point out that even though we didnt get any confirmation I think they do process it on the spot and starts entering into the system. So they do their work and its just a matter of when we get the aor

And I'm not trying to say you are, either~ I've just noticed it's something people often get frustrated with, when we already know it's something they do. But yes, I believe you are right~ :)

Hi everyone! I've followed this conversation back several pages. Am I correct that I shouldn't worry yet if our application was received on July 12, 2018 and we haven't heard anything at all so far? Is there still a chance they could return/refuse our application?

Hello,

I believe you are correct as several July applicants (myself included - July 19th) have not heard anything yet. I believe, until you receive an AOR1, there is always a possibility of them returning your application. But not to worry as there are several of us still waiting for AOR1

I would say it could be either or. Yes, I don't think you should worry too much. It could still be a couple of weeks before they contact you. But there could maybe still be a chance it could be sent back. However I believe if it's been this long, it would have been sent back already if there were any mistakes? I just entered in my personal information every day into GCKey and eventually it pinged that my application was in the system, and I was able to do this before recirecing AOR

Yes, they may return it if something is wrong/missing, etc. Not much to do but wait unfortunately.
