I called 1-888-242-2100 to ask about my application because there has not been any movement since December that I received a fingerprint request. They told me that they placed an inquiry on my file because it has past the year since my application started. My application is in the Scarborough office.
The next day I received the following email:

Dear Applicant:

This letter is in reference to your application for Canadian citizenship and is further to your inquiry received at our office regarding the status of your Citizenship application.

Please be advised that you will be scheduled into the next itinerant services event(s) in the coming months. You will be notified via email with an invitation detailing a new date, time and location once they have been confirmed.

I would advice everyone that is in a similar situation just to call.
Thats sounds like u missed a test date and they will reschedule u. Why they are sayinh a new date?

I never got any notification or email about a previous test, I check online once a week.
I live in Northern Ontario, so there is not a big office in my town. So far they have posted the itinerant services test for the next 2 months and my town is not in the list.
I just have to be patient, nothing else to do

Don’t worry bro, u r not alone. Exactly the same dates as yours. My application in process since Sep 17,2018. No correspondence whatsoever from them so far. Called them early last mont, same reply - in queue at Scarborough office and it’s very busy. That’s all.
Same here: App received in July 2018, In Process Oct 2018. I've called a few times since Jul 2019, even my MP called, always the same answer: "all's good, background checks, etc. Just a long queue". I was hoping to vote in October, doesn't look like I will.

I was hoping to vote as well, so my driving my wife to the polling station so I make sure she does

Can anyone tell me what "non-routine application" means?
I contacted MP office and the one who helped me got the below response from IRCC.

Please note this file has been identified as non-routine application. Because the application is non-routine, there is no specific processing time to finalize it. Applicant will be scheduled into a test event in due course.

Hi, I applied for my Canadian Citizenship in July 2018.

It has been over a year by 2 months already. I was not asked for any additional information, records, etc. but they just don't seem to be getting back to me with a test date. I see that a lot of people who applied after me and were asked to provide additional information already received a test date.

Is anyone else going through this? And does contacting the MP help? I applied from Toronto but my application is being processed in the Mississauga office, so which MP do I contact (the one for Toronto or Mississauga) and how do I get their contact information?

My dates are very similar and I am also waiting for test invite. Called few times. They just say to wait. Went to MP. They called and got the same answer. The file is with Mississuaga office and they have overload.

Had my interview and test in Hamilton on Thursday, September 19. Test was easy - 20/20 score. Interview was very relaxed and fairly quick. Just made a photocopy of my OHIP card and let me know the oath would likely be mid October or into November sometime.

Please update the spreadsheet with my new details:
