Hello all

please suggest me

My eligibility period is:

27 jul 2013 to 27 jul 2018
physical present days : 1102

I landed in canada on 1st June 2015.

Do I need to Submit Police clearance certificates for the period

27 jul 2013 to 1 June 2015.

I provided PCC with my application in September 2014 as it was mandatory.

Travelled to my home country for three times (50 days in total) after becoming PR.

Total days out of canada during 4 years is 359 days before getting PR status.

Thanks in advance

I believe, the PCC is required if:
a. you have stayed in any 1 country outside canada for a total period of 183 days or more in a calendar year,
b. in the past 4 years.

See Step 3 >> Section 10 Part 2 under application guide: https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...bsection-5-1-adults-18-years-older.html#Step3

Quote - UnQuote: "Within the last 4 years, if you spent 183 days or more in another country (other than Canada), you must provide a police certificate. You must provide a police certificate for each country where you spent 183 days or more. If you cannot get a police certificate, tell us why."

If you landed on 1st June 2015 and I assume you applied today, you spent 306 days of the 4 years immediately before you applied, in your home country. So you will need to supply PCC for the time period from July 30th 2014 through 1st June 2015 (306 days).

Please do contact me if you need any further clarifications or my explanation was not accurate / useful.

I'm in the process of filling in my application, I have a stupid question ...

How much of a gap can I put for work experience in Question 11?

Here's my scenario. I worked at job 1 from 2015-10-19 to 2016-08-20. I took a few days off to relax from 2016-08-21 to 2016-09-05, I then worked at job 2 from 2016-09-06 to 2017-02-06. In filling in the details, do I have to account for the few days I was off between jobs?

So do I do:
  • Job 2 | 2016-09 | 2017-02 | ....
  • UNEMPLOYED | 2016-08 | 2016-09 | ...
  • Job 1 | 2015-10 | 2016-08 | ...
OR
  • Job 2 | 2016-09 | 2017-02 | ....
  • Job 1 | 2015-10 | 2016-08 | ...

Dear Whips,

Please do ensure 2 things are adhered to to ensure that nothing slips through the defect cracks of the application process:
1. All ROE (Record of Employment) dates match your application dates.
2. Mention all gaps in employment so that you account for the full period of residency during your residence in Canada.

This has no impact on the decision to grant citizenship, as far as my experience goes. Please do correct me if anyone has evidence to the contrary - that citizenship was denied based on employability.

Regards,
Maverick

The same thing happened to me. I sent mine on the 24th and it was supposed to be delivered on the 27th but it still says in transit. I called canada post today and put in a ticket request. The guy assured me it is going to be delivered on Monday but did the ticket anyways.
Lets keep each other posted. I'll be killing that F5 button tomorrow and will likely open a case if I don't hear anything back in a few days.

Thanks for detailed answer
I have few more doubts. Will contact you.

Hello,
I've sent my application by courier, signature required, on July 25th in the morning. It was 'guaranteed' to be there on July 27th.
I've been tracking it and it says 'IN TRANSIT' since yesterday morning (Friday July 27th). It's now Saturday and it still says the same... It should at least come back to the post office to try again later on Monday. No?
I'm not sure where it is at this point.

Has anyone experienced a similar thing?

Thanks.
Give it a day or two and check again.
It should be delivered if its via courier. You can always check with courier company and inquire where it is held up.

For a moment, I got worried,

- My eligiblity period is 16 Jul 2013 - 16 Jul 2018.
- I arrived in Canada 26 Feb 2014 (I was in india 16Jul2013 to 25Feb2014)
- Became a PR on 21 Apr 2016
- In relation to my time in India, as the question states, over the last 4 yrs i.e. 16Jul2014 - 16Jul2018 whether I have been in any other country for (cumulatively) >183 days, I marked it as "No". I have made a couple of trips to india in the last 4yrs, however these cumulatively dont go more than a month. As a result I did not submit any PCC.

I hope I did not misunderstand the PCC requirement in terms of my time in India?
