You have to wait for AOR in order to be provided with the file number for the application. It's taking up to 8 weeks now, so you just have to wait it out a bit longer.

you are still within the timeline. no need to rush. wait another week and we'll look at the trend again.

Anyone here from Spain? I sent my app via correos de España and I can only see that left Spain on the 16th of July. Any idea when the application could have been received in Mississauga?
Thanks!
Algún español por el chat? Sabéis cuánto tarda aproximadamente en llegar la carta a Mississauga una vez que sale de España?
Gracias!

I'm not from Spain, but I'm from Colombia, so I know Spanish, in case you want to chat or something. I read on the August thread someone shipped his package from the UK and it took almost a month to reach Mississauga. If you didn't sign up for text message confirmation, there's not much of a way for you to know they received it. Maybe, and this is a big maybe, if you ask the company you used for this service, they could locate it after a lot of work. Usually it's not possible to locate it when it's overseas like this, unless you put a tracking number to it.

Thanks for your answer Juliana! I did put a tracking number but I can only track it until it left Spain. I called CIC today but my receipt number begins with 'R' and none of the menu options matched.

Does anyone have experience in calling CIC with the receipt number from the payment?

I'm Andrew. Yes, my wife in Canada (sponsor) called and provided some information about me and they found the application in their system. That was about two weeks ago, my file was received on July 26th and I got AOR on September 1st. You can call from time to time, give them the info they need to search for it on their system until they actually open your application. They usually start processing it days before you get AOR, two weeks before that or so. Firstly they do a screening to make sure all the documents are submitted. Then they process it for days to make sure everything is okay, no wrong info on the forms, or missing, or signatures, everything. Once they are sure nothing is wrong, you get AOR.

You can upload a document we request from you through your online account. If you don’t have an account, create an account then link your application to your account.

To upload your document:

  • Sign in to your account
  • Look for your application under View my submitted applications or profiles
  • Under the Action column click Check status and messages
  • At the bottom of the page click View submitted application
  • Under Supporting Documents you can find:
    • Document Name: the document we need
    • Instructions: more information on the type of document and how to get it
    • Required by: the latest date by when we need to receive the document
  • Click Upload file to attach your file
  • Make sure the Details column shows the message Uploaded – Not submitted to IRCC
  • Click Next
  • Review & Validate the information
  • Sign by entering your first name and last name
  • Click Submit

Thanks for pointing me to this but when I get to supporting documents, it says no supporting documents are needed—even though we've received the e-mail letter saying that Schedule A and criminal background checks are required. Anyway, I've uploaded it now through the general communications portal as the letter indicates.

Woke up to our AOR1 email!!! I'm so fricken excited, I was literally crying. App received July 28, AOR1 September 6!

After much trying, I managed to link my online account to the application. I received the e-mail to submit Schedule A, etc., which is now complete. But how do you upload it on the website? There is a box saying "Your Action is Required" and there is a link to "Check status and messages" but there is no upload button. I've tried to follow this thread and it seems others has the same problem but I just can't figure it out. Any help?
Any advice on linking my account? I've tried 3 times already and can't seem to figure it out...thanks!!

this is my advice as someone who has tried 50 times. try any combination as your brain can think of. after 5 tries, revoke your GCkey account, then create a new one. then try 5 more times. rinse and repeat.

what made it work for me is using SINGLE instead of MARRIED.
