Hi there,

I applied for my spouse's PR in July 2017 - the application was filed on July 13, 2017 and after receiving AoR1 in August, we received AoR2 on October 9, 2017. We received an email from the New Delhi visa office on January 16, 2018 saying that they will begin processing the file in 2 months (so by March 16, 2018) and that we would hear back from them by either May or by June. We have not heard back from them yet. 7 months have passed since the file was transferred to the New Delhi visa office. Medical exam has been passed and also, the Police Clearing Certificate, Schedule A has been uploaded and the GCKEY shows that they are processing the background check. Can someone please advise as to what the next step would be as it seems to be taking an inordinate amount of time.

I am also an applicant of July 7, 2107 . I am also waiting for the decision. It is really painful, because I am really missing my 7 months baby girl, as a father it is really painful.

Are there still July applicants still waiting for PPR? I am a July applicant, Last updated I got was Dec 2017 for Background check Inprocess. Should I email MVO? Or CIC? Or Should I just wait?

I have similar timeline as you. Same AOR2 date and also got the email from cic on January 16. Hopefully we will hear something this month or in June. We got no option but to wait patiently.

We got passport request 10 days ago, still ECAS nor GCkeys says a decision has been made. Is it normal? It says online that ''

Passport request letter
Once an application has been approved and a final decision has been entered, the processing office must send the ‘Passport Request’ letter to the applicant through their MyCIC account.''

So I should understand we got approved?

A lot of May/June/July applicants received the same email including myself (July 5th applicant). They cleared a lot of May applicants last month and are currently working on the rest of May peeps and June. So hopefully July applicants are next. Should hear something by the end of this month/beginning of next.

July 18th 2017 applicant. File Transferred to LVO on Sept 18th, 2017. since then no word from LVO. approx 10 months since july 18th and 8 months since file transferred to LVO

The given wait time is 12 months. Some are done before then and others not. I've been waiting since July as well and my family are in Canada waiting for me. It looks like most of those in July are all stuck at the Background Check. Like you and me.

They have up to 12 months to process everything and on top of that consulates will start processing working holiday visas for Canadian's winter workers along with other consulate tasks who they also have to join the que for.

Just breath and relax! we are all in the same boat
