Thanks! It's not as though I'm in default or breaking any rules, but of course I'm running through every reason why my case is not moving, though likely it's just waiting its turn.

It sounds like it could be any day for you as you're on a similar time line to knowledge101. Perhaps by next week your background check will be on! Chin up. My heart starts racing with all the fast movement from Ottawa VO that I hear on this forum, but I remind myself I filed the app believing the 15 months listed on the website and was ready to wait then...

Thank you! I hope so You totally are right, it's still within the timeframe. I need to remind myself of that.

You should be hearing something about the background check in the coming weeks. They are just getting through the late August transfers like us! Stevin was on Friday and mine was Wednesday (Background check changed to In Progress) so you should probably hear something soon!

Background check is still "In Process", it has officially been a week. Hoping for some more movement soon. Best of luck to everyone!

I had police clearances requested via email, i have emailed and sent the originals. Does anybody know when I should hear confirmation that they have been received? Or the general email response time?

Or should i just call the IRCC 1-888-242-2100 line?

Hello, I'm just new here. I badly need help :( I can't link my spouse application to myCiC account. Been trying everyday:( they started my husband's permanent resident on September 7, 2016 and still no updates. Our VO is in Manila.

I tried my Husband's UCi and app number as well. I actually tried all combinations :( but no matches always. It's really frustrating.. we send our sponsorship application on july 27 and we got our AOr2 last Sept. 7, and they recieved his upfront medical. I also send emails asking if there's any missing documents to manilimmigration twice and i got no reply. :(

Try these instructions that worked for many of us in September group. They don't come from me but from another member, but they worked for me:
"Hello fellow Sep applicants, I'm brand new to this forum and I'm a Sep applicant as well, I will be posting my timelines in the spreadsheet soon but I want to try help those who are struggling to link their application to CIC, try the below steps as I saw a lot of people succeeding using this method

The combination of information that I used to find the application (finally) was:

1. Logged in with GC Key account.
2. Permanent Residence > Family Class (Spouses)
2. Application Number and Family Name - Copy/pasted application number from email (including the F) and entered PA's last name.
3. City of Birth - I entered 1 space (hit spacebar once)
4. Country of Birth - Selected PA's country of birth
5. Passport Info - Did not enter any passport info
6. Other Application Info - Filled out the other application info as per our application and put '2' as the number of members in the application. I am sponsoring my wife, no dependents.

It popped up saying 1 application was found. Hope this helps someone trying to link their account.

Give this a go, hope it helps!!"

We need help. Sponsoring my wife from the Philippines. We were asked to redo and re send my wifes police clearence. We did this and sent it without knowing there are fees we must pay and a form we must sign.
They sent the police clearance back with a letter of NOTICE OF INCOMPLETE APPLICATION stating they tryed to call but no calls went through and my wife says there
are no missed calls over the last month.
They sent a check list for what we must send. stating we must send in the sign Consent Form, Fees for documents but they also
checked off the OTHER Section and wrote: No Reavesl (??? i cant fully ready the writing) letter from Embassy.
I dont understand what kind of letter they want from the Embassy

Heya, is your wife's police clearance from a country other than the Philippines where she's lived in for more than 6 months? In my case, I needed a request Letter from CEM before I can procure a singapore Police clearance and they asked me to send along a copy of that letter together with the police clearance to CEM via VFS/CVAC.

Right before I was about to make a call to the CIC, I got an email requesting passport photos and that they were needed within 15 days. Now, we were careful to make sure we included passport photos with our application to speed up the process, so I'm not sure why they need more. Of course we're happy to provide whatever they need, so my husband has gone off to get those done right away. I'm trying to not let myself get too excited, but I think it bodes well that they are requesting those, right?

After that, I spoke to someone at CIC, he said that he can't check the official status of our application because my husband is an outland applicant (I knew this, but I guess I just thought he'd be able to give his general thoughts on the matter). However, he said that they send the refusal emails pretty promptly, so if that were the case we’d know. And since they asked for these photos, it seems very positive, in his opinion. However, he said I should contact the Canadian Visa Office in New York to be sure. They don’t have a phone number so I have to email them. Will report back.
Well everyone, here is our update!
We never heard back from anyone at the Canadian or New York offices. It was a bit discouraging, because we also never received any big "Approval" email, like another person said they had.
Buuuuuuuut!
We just got my husband's Confirmation of Permanent Residence in the mail! It hasn't really hit either of us yet. Now we're just trying to get a new job lined up and he'll be on his way over for The Big Move, likely in January ;D
