At least the weather is getting better and the nights are getting lighter. Lol i'm just hoping he makes it here before we hit another winter . Spoke to hubby today and he thinks we should wait it out but every day i change my mind depending on my mood. He really doesn't mind if i go back home but he don't want me to have any regrets. Renovating, decorating keeps me busy.

Im curious, who here are living outside Canada? What's keeping you busy?

Me, I'm already here in BC. =P We couldnt take being in an LDR anymore. Hubby and I have been apart for a year then I got here, we got married, and sent in our application. Didnt leave Canada ever since. Only sucks that hubby's the only one working for the 2 of us. And it sucks not being able to work. I have been volunteering here and there to keep me sane while waiting. But I honestly dont know where to start looking for work once I get my PR. Lol! But this is a good problem. Haha!

I applied in Sept but I follow Jun, July Aug threads :) ... My husband and I did 5 years long distance before we got married and applied so I decided to "visit" Canada until this process is over. I am going a bit crazy not being able to just live a normal life but I am happy not being apart anymore. I don't even know how finding a job will be either. I have a great education and all but sometimes it does seem like its all so different even though its pretty similar lol... sigh! haha

We really thought hard about doing the LDR again after getting married but the distance and the time zone difference were just too much. I cant imagine how difficult it is for those who're apart and waiting. =\ its either you have job stability while apart or you dont but you're together. At this point, i really hope things would just pick up now!

Finding a decent job now seems really bleak, at least for someone like me with little work experience. I've even heard of those who graduated with a degree but couldnt find work in their field. Companies also look for lots of experience but where could we get it if not many companies offer entry level positions for new grads. Gaaah, life. So frustrating sometimes. Sorry for the rant.. :P

That is my problem, I have two degrees but no experience in the field because as soon as I finished my Masters I came to Canada. So I am going to be applying with no experience and "foreign" degrees. Blah! But its all in the name of love! :)

Most people rarely work in the field that their degrees in. My husbands degree is in graphic arts, he's an applications architect. My BIL studied computer science, he's worked as an art director with NFL, NBC and Trollback. My degrees are in molecular biology, I worked as an analytical chemist. The only people I know with jobs in their actual fields of study are those who require certifications: nurses, teachers, PT's, OT's, pharmacists etc. Try not to stress about the experience thing either, they all state that, but you'd be surprised how many really want clean slates as potential candidates.

Hey everyone... I have a question that I can't seem to find an answer for online. If my wife is a u.s citizen, does she need a pr card to travel back and fourth between the two countries? Or will her passport be fine?

She doesn't need her PR card but once she receives it,she should carry it along with her passport with her so cbsa won't give her any hassle coming back into the country .Make sure she has all documentation when coming back to Canada to avoid delays.

@ taffy 7,

Hello Everyone,
I have been reading this forum for a while and decided that today I would write my information to let everyone know my timeline. I completed my app in June 2014, (received by CIC July 4th 2014).8/26/14- letter from CIC stating we forgot a signature :( 9/30/14- Sponsor Approval. 01/08/15- Request for medical and pay RPRF. Sent payment and medical form off the next day. Called CIC every three weeks or so to check on application. 04/16/14- Received a letter (email) from CIC stating my Interview is in two weeks.

I had lost faith in the system seeing people applying in Sept and October already receiving PR and I had all but given up. I was ready to go back to the US and work until it finally came, but it seems as if Ottawa started again. It may be silly for me to say this, but try not to think about it. Or atleast think of an alternate way of moving forward in your life so that you don't feel helpless as I am sure you are all feeling (me included). If you have any questions, please feel free to write me.

FYI. ECAS still only says medicals received. So I would NOT put any trust in it.

You have to interview? I take it you're a US citizen, where are they wanting you to interview and which office did you select on the form? Does your spouse have to attend too?

There have been no Sept or Oct Ottawa applicants who've been receiving PR. Right now Ottawa is working on July and August application.

The Sept applicants who received PR were not in the Ottawa office. They were in Mississauga and Some other visa offices. Ottawa VO Sept Applicants are still waiting.
