I'm a July Applicant via Ottawa. My wife is a US Citizen from New York.

Application Received: July 30, 2014
Sponsorship Approval: September 17, 2014

No updates since 2014-11-04.

Was there any change to "In process" or any notification on your ECAS before the PPR?

No, my ecas still shows med rcv.. but it's okay, ecas is not really updated most of the time..

I just hope they'll send back my passport soon.. I know some applicants who got ppr with visa validity and already waiting for 2 months for their passport to be returned. Sure visa but why are they still keeping the passports that long? Justice please! :'(

Anyway, still praying for good news soon for other applicants as well specially to my fellow July applicants! ;D

Ok thanks.. yes I have seen Manila likes to hold passports but at least they mention the visa validity so flights can be researched and preparations can be made to depart.
Im really kind of hoping to get my wife's PPR in the extreme near future. She is home now in the Philippines to visit. She has 3 weeks left there before returning back to Thailand. If she gets the request her visa issuance may be able to be completed in person before she goes back. Fingers and toes crossed lol

Guys I am 11 July applicant why they left 11 and started giving visa to all other July applicant.. If anybody who applied on 11 July tell me please.

I am a July 11 applicant as well. I got a request to pay the right to resience fee and proof i want to return to Canada, other than that my application is still saying just recieved.

Dnt know why they taking so much time, their are some people who applied after 11 like 20 July 16 July they got visas dnt know when this waiting will come to an end

I don't think it's based on WHEN you applied, just your application and who grabs it out of the super huge stack of paperwork they have. I just imagine that sucker being at least a few feet high. I think it also depends on how neat your application was. I could be wrong though!

I have been deliberately not checking ECAS since I just get so frustrated however, there has been a lot of movement in Manila lately so I checked today and I get this:

We received application for permanent residence on August 1, 2014.

We started processing application on April 6, 2015.

Medical results have been received.

A decision has been made on application. The office will contact concerning this decision.

End in sight!

We received application for permanent residence on August 1, 2014.

We started processing application on April 6, 2015.

Medical results have been received.

A decision has been made on application. The office will contact concerning this decision.

End in sight!

Wow nice! You received ppr already? My ecas still shows until med rcv until now.

We started processing ********** application on April 6, 2015.

Medical results have been received.

Guess this shows that ECAS really does not always get updated.

Applications are not all processed by the same visa office. Every VO has their own time line to completion.
They also seem to rotate the different offices for processing speed. Example. the last few that you have heard from July we were mainly processed through Manila. A couple of weeks ago it was Ottawa that was zipping through a few applications. Next week It could be your office and your turn. Patience and don't lose hope. Its a very frustrating experience to go through this.
