Hi all,

Newbie here :)

My wife is sponsoring me for Permanent Resdency to Quebec from the UK. We are using a very good immigration lawyer based in Quebec to make things easier, we recieved the letter saying we have been approved for sponsorship and given the UCI number on 16th September 2014, I logged into the site and it currently says "Application recieved 16th July 2014 and Medicals recieved, nothing else is listed there yet. When we submitted the application we had everything in there (including Police Clearance Certificate and Medicals) in the hopes of making the process a bit quicker.

I do have a question though, my wife recieved a letter from CIC (through the lawyer) and it states You have met the requirements for eligibility as a sponsor. Accordingly, the Application for Permanent Residence for your relative(s) has been retained for further processing at CPC Mississauga.

Does this mean the application is not going to be sent to London and is going to be processed entirely at CPC Mississauga?

Yes it looks like Mississauga will be processing your application. Lucky too, Usually quick of what I heard about them.

Sis, we didn't receive an AOR before we got the SA. Just be patient sis, if you are sure naman that there's no reason that he will not be approved as sponsor, dont worry. The SA says that my hubby met the requirements and eligible to sponsor me, and it has been forwarded to manila for processing. Do check your spam folder as well. If you see it confirmed received by cpc through the tracking of canada post, it means your application is in their hands na talaga, kung sabay man tayo ng timeline, baka medyo nakahabol lang yung sakin ng cut off last week, tapos yung sa inyo for this week na. Hehe Just keep praying and dagdagan ang patience sis. :D

Hello,

I have a couple questions?

1. Have any of you pulled an Inland app and applied Outland? Can you provide your circumstances?

I would like to do "Just that", I am American citizen that applied Inland! Because, I thought we had to. BUT now I hear you can apply FASTER outland.

I am worried about red flags from pulling an Inland and going Outland. I am also worried that the person that gets our app. in the States will be a Homophobe! That's all I need. My wife is 23 years my Senior we are a lesbian couple and moved in right away together. I have now been living in BC since March 2014 with my wife and have settled in to my new life. Does anyone have a similar situation to mine?

Thanks in advance. :)

I withdrew my inland application two months and a half after applying and re-applied outland 15 days later. My process is moving along nicely, way faster than inland. Maybe this thread will help:

Don't worry about homophobia, there is NO way that you would be denied based on homophobia. Especially because US outland applications are processed in Ottawa, not that they would do it if they processed them in the States. Gay marriage has been legal in Canada for a while, and you will be considered on equal terms as a heterosexual couple in the eyes of immigration law.

Also, if the sponsor specifies that the reason for withdrawing the sponsorship is only to re-apply outland again and for no other reason (they have to send a letter to withdraw), that the relationship is still equally strong, it shouldn't be a red flag.

Thanks Ashley,

The good part about NOT needing to send a withdrawal letter is that the application was sent back to us for an Outdated form. So why NOT reapply Outland :)

I am just worried about my Visitor Visa, it expires October 14th, If I send a request now will they honor it? I figured I could send a letter of explication re: reapplying Outland frm Inland and not having the Implied status?

Also, Is the OWP fee refundable? ::)

Does anyone have an idea of what SECONDARY REVIEW means from cic

That's the first time I've heard of it. Did they send you an email? Or did you give them a phone call?
