I have seen a couple of posts recently where people have applied in situations in which they have no hope of being approved. As long as you have a solid case for why you cant get married and why you cant live together for a year there is probably little to worry about, but my understanding is that the reasons can't be that you don't want to get married, or that you dont want to give up a job to live together. Common situations are same sex marrage not being allow in your country, and you cant get visitor visas for long enough to live together.
I am far from an expert on the matter, hopefully someone with more experience will provide input. But from what I have read on this forum it sounds like that you will probably have issues getting approved. I would definately look into the back up plan, it sounds like marriage might be the easiest option. Sorry didn't want to stress you out, would rather you be fully aware of things rather than wait a long time and have to go back to the start.aannegii said:Oh I see. Well my boyfriend works in the ship, the that goes like around the world. When he became my boyfriend, he had to leave the next day to go in the ship coz he already signed a contract in the company that he is in right now. And that is something beyond our control. I don't really know. I'm starting to feel bad now. I guess we have to start on building up some back up plans.
congratulations! Hope the next step goes smoothly!kcorbin said:Hi!! I just got news that my husband received his sponsorship approval! ;D We didnt really expect anything until after 2 more weeks because of the processing times on the CIC website. But i guess things have been speeding up!
Hello! I just checked the spreadsheet and found out that we have the same application date (received by CIC). Have you got an email from them asking for the updated forms? I'm really worried that our application will be affected with those changes and might be returned.ReturningHome14 said:Congrats Dendens! Hope second phase goes quickly!
kcorbin, before they sent out AORs when you submit your application. They recently stopped sending those out. Now the very first contact we receive from CIC is the SA.kcorbin said:I do have a stupid question about the spreadsheet.. What's the difference between AOR received and Sponsorship approval? Haha! Thanks in advance for enlightening me!
