It does not have to be open. Its up to you. Most of the people however apply for open work permit after getting AOR for PR application

re fee for open work permit: $ 155 plus + $ 100 (this one is new)
for employer specific permit: $155 + compliance fee ($230 paid by the employer before applying work permit extension)

I read the article and it confused me more :/
so they are saying they are going to check and investigate the employers to make sure they are compliance? how do you prof to them that no Canadian is available for the job?

What if you have an open work permit and you want to extend it? does your employer has to apply or you and pay fee? or you can do it yourself

And what should I submit for "Itinerary, Travel (required)" document on my online application?

as I am already working in Canada.

If you are already in Canada then you dont have to submit Itinerary doc, travel.

for extending open work permit employer does not need to pay compliance fee. You pay 155 + 100. compliance fee (230) is only for those who are working in Canada and are exempt from LMIA and want to renew employer specific work permit

I just gave a call to CIC and need to opt 1-1-3-1 to connect to agent. They recieved my medicals and PCC from India but havent updated the ECAS status .

They say once you have an AOR you can apply. So try to do it online. Go through the assessment online and it will give you a profile number if you are eligible.

Use this to continue feeling up forms and uploading it online. Pay the fee as shown.
