There is one intresting point there...

Some workers will be exempt from the cumulative duration regulation.

•TFWs in managerial (NOC 0) or professional occupations (NOC A).
•TFWs who have applied for permanent residence and received:
◦a Certificat de sélection du Québec (CSQ) if applying as a Quebec Skilled Worker;
◦a Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) certificate if applying as a provincial nominee;
◦an approval in principle letter if applying under the Live-in Caregiver Class;
◦a positive selection decision if applying under the Federal Skilled Worker Class; or
◦a positive selection decision if applying under the Canadian Experience Class

Hope this helps... :)

Yesterday I talk with someone who works for immigration, she said that overall it is not going to impact, but in some cases they need some info from the people who are working at The Professional Association of Foreign Service Officers (PAFSO) those cases will be affected. And she add that. "what will impact is the number of applications received because of the new 4 years limit to be here on a work permit", all the people who is going to reach 4 years for April 2015 (the law started at April 2011) wants to submit their application before Jan 2014.
Hi Jorger,
I have never heard of any of this 4 year limit. Can you please provide us more information. I have been in Canada since May 2010.
Thanks in advance

Hi Jorger,
Care to elaborate on this '4 year April 2015 law'.. never heard of this before!!
Thanks...
Here you have the link, with some info about the four years limit, as you can see is not retroactive, so in example for Cruiser55 may 2010 to april 2011 doesn't count, and there are some exceptions but for most of us the clock started tickling on april 2011, and thats why cic is expecting a raise in the number of applications by Jan 2014. If you came after April 2011 the four year start when you started working and doesn't take in account periods on unemployment, license etc..

The Visa officer's strike and the sumnmer holidays might delay our AOR's considerably

I have updated the NOC column just next to Userid in the spreadsheet. NOCs are playing a vital role nowadays it seems. Can you all update your NOCs as well in the spreadsheet ?

Thanks JPMH and Jorger. If I understand it correctly, it is something like H1B US vias and the 6 year rule. Only diff is that there will not be any renewal after 4 years. So, people can either go back home or apply for PR! And, of course, not all will get PR approved because of one factor or another... So its like shooting two birds with one stone -- increase the number of landed immigrants to boost economy, while simultaneously sending back people who are not really required.. Thats a 'nice' stategic move...... :'(

Hi JPMH,
Thank you for the information.

I was working under NOC 0 from June 2011 until March 2013, does this mean that the 4 year cumulative limit does not apply to me?

Please advice.

On that sheet....what's "Payment Taken" and "Total days from payment taken"?

Payment taken: How you paid the fees?

Total days from payment taken : If you have paid by Demand Draft/certified cheque/money order : its date when money was transferred from your account....

hope this helps
